Jedi Knights and their Lightsabres.

Okay, so I've watched the trailers for the new Star Wars movie and I have only one question.

WTF is up with all the pastel-colored light sabres?

C'mon folks! These guys are the Galaxy's Ass Kickers and they can't spring for some primary colors? How threatened am I supposed to be by a guy in a robe weilding something that looks like a neon pink tube of lipstick?!?

Christ, it's like being menaced by an interior decorator with a British accent!

I'm joining the Sith. At least they get the cool dangerous-looking gear.

Colours are generated by the locations of the crystals in the jedi's saber hilt. Each and every saber is unique and the creation of it is part of the final step in becoming a Jedi knight. No two sabers should be the same which should explaine the variety of colours. The softer colours are probably symbolic of the Jedi affinity, oneness, with teh force. Working with the universe, rather than controling it.

Isn't the new one supposedly have an appearence by everyone's favorie boy band Nsuck? maybe they need the pastel pretty light sabres to distingush the obsecne amount of gayness they emit. grrr, this is the worst thing since jar jar...

also let it be known that lighsabers GLOW. as in they're BRIGHT and give off a good helping of LIGHT. it's kinda hard to glow brightly when your saber has a midnight blue blade. also, regardless of what color blade is produced, the "core" of the blade will be a very, very light shade of whatever. the outer corona (whatever it's called. had a nice decription and explaination somewhere that i could dig out, but it's in Iowa currently) MAY be a fairly dark shade, but it's still going to look quite light overall.

also, the lightsaber is only drawn as a weapon as a last resort by a vast majority of Jedi. to most it is a tool rather than a weapon, even. i don't think they give a rat's ass as to whether their blade looks "bitchin" or not.

so what's your saber's color, Juspar? i KNOW you've already picked out at least 1 color, if not more.

As far as I can tell ya, this is from a friend who lives and breathes Movies....

"Lucas's daughter begged and pleaded with daddy to get InSuck into the movie, and he did......the scenes were later cut."

There was a rather large chorus of "Thank you, fucking GOD" When that came around.

Oh, and FYI, I vastly prefer to use a simple blue on my lightsabre.......

they died in those scenes. they were to the Jedi what red shirts and no name was to the original Star Trek.

the scenes were pulled b/c they didn't think fans would like seeing N*suck die.

i'd pay good money to see those scenes, if their characters really did die.

All I can say is, THANK YOU, George for cutting them out. I also heard that there's a scene where Amidala cuts off Jar Jar in 1 of his rants. Again, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

My colour? Who cares? I'll build it first, with power and stability in mind. We'll see what coulour happens to result from the configuration.

I can't wait for Eppisode II, by all reports it will be a huge step up from EpI. Though I still think they'll be hard pressed to top the overall perfection of A New Hope.
