There was a meeting, but no activists from the Black Lives Matter movement participated.

Bush met with a local elected official, a GOP lobbyist and a staffer from an anti-poverty organization.

Kevin Hooks, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Urban League, told HuffPost he set up the meeting at the Bush campaign's behest. His organization focuses on providing job opportunities for low-income residents. Hooks said that while he respects Bush for reaching out, he would not characterize the people at the meeting as Black Lives Matter activists. "It's a little disingenuous," he said.

The Bush campaign did not comment on whether it stood by its statement that the candidate met with Black Lives Matter advocates. The campaign said that advocates were invited, and couldn't speak to why people might not want to attend

Why did the Washington Post head an article with a title that is a lie ?

‘Black Lives Matter’ activists, Jeb Bush meet face-to-face'

Bush spokeswoman Allie Brandenburger said that Bush met with Black Lives Matters advocates "ahead of his event in Las Vegas on issues including criminal justice"reform.

Jamie Hall, who supports Black Lives Matter, stood up during the Q&A session and listed statistics about racial disparities in police killings. She asked Bush how he planned to address issues such as the school-to-prison pipeline.

Bush responded that there are "serious problems," and that "there is racism in America, no one should deny that."

Tenisha Martin asked Bush, "How do you relate to it?"

Bush, visibly annoyed at the interruption, pivoted to discussing his plan for education reform and took no more questions. Jeanne DuBose told HuffPost, "We weren't interrupting; we were listening. And once [Hall] asked her question, that was it. He turned around, he started to walk away," she said. "We stood up and we started chanting, 'Black Lives Matter.' He just ignored that."

Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, was not impressed. "He lied, or does he not get what's happening? And he thinks he's meeting with people when he's not?" she asked. "Incredible. In-fucking-credible."

Jeb!, who has called BLM (Black Lives Matter) a "slogan," was preparing to give a speech. Then, the LA Times reports, two activists started a "Black Lives Matter" chant. They were quickly "escorted" off the premises and Jeb! went on with his speech.

As Jeb! was leaving the meeting, other activists started chanting "Black Lives Matter."

Why did Jeb! ignore the question posed to him by the protester ?

Martin O’Malley and Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont found themselves face-to-face with protesters, led by supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Saturday’s verbal confrontation first came during O’Malley’s town hall meeting.
A protester was invited on stage.

“I recognize the pain and grief throughout country, to all the lives lost to violence,” O’Malley said, to tepid applause, before expounding on the efforts he made when he was mayor of Baltimore to end an epidemic of violence and drug abuse.

Then, after the 15-minute interruption, O’Malley said, “Black lives matter, white lives matter, all lives matter.”

He was roundly booed. He repeated the line. More boos followed. He eventually waved to the crowd as he left the stage

(Martin O'Malley
Who is he? He’s a former governor of Maryland and mayor of Baltimore.)

"They all fumbled when we brought black issues to the table,” said Ashley Yates, 30, one of Saturday’s protest leaders. “That was by design.”

"You can’t hold anyone accountable for something they haven’t agreed to yet,” Yates said, adding that Netroots, for all its progressive leanings, remained a largely white space.

“Let’s be honest: It’s mostly white, concerning white issues,” Yates said, “when we are out here dying."

gsgs comment- Hilary Clinton had Secret Service agents at her event. Black Lives Matter were not given a chance to protest. But, Hilary did meet with them, face-to-face. Hilary had some answers and suggestions. She has put some thought into it. Hopefully, she will have a chance to respond as a woman and not as a campaign robot.

All politicians or parties hire people to lie for them. That's besides all the lying they do for themselves, such as telling everybody about how they were dodging sniper fire. How many liars do you think have been hired by Hillary Clinton over the last 12 years?

Not nearly as many as George Bush hired to lie about the need to invade Iraq.

Nobody wants to deal with those maniacs.. Just get out the vote! What they are doing isnt going to matter....

You know what the biggest lie is? That government can solve all the problems. This country is going down the shithole, courtesy of both parties, because government does too much, won't get the fuck out of the way, and is creating a society where people, corporations, whatever, are not accountable. The government will fix it, bail them out, support them, and on and on and on.

Jeb! Losing So Hard, He’d Like To Now Remind You He IS A Bush

Bush insisted that he is A Expert on foreign policy — unlike that hack, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — because his name is Bush. And no, we are not kidding.

“I know how to do this because, yes, I am a Bush,” he said. “I happened to see two really good presidents develop relationships with other countries.”

We have our doubts about the effectiveness of reminding voters Jeb is a Bush, and assuring them he has learned how foreign policy works from watching his family’s tradition of presidential up-fucking, and promising to do presidenting just like a Bush. On the other hand, trying to sell voters on Jeb, just for being Jeb, is failing so spectacularly that this new angle certainly couldn’t make things worse.

I believe most people believe black lives matter. Those who don't are mostly other black people, and you can see that by the fact that most murders of black people are by those other black people.

"Jeb Bush hires someone to lie for him"

What, he didn't have a campaign manager until now?

Hiring a liar?

Why dosen,t he just he just ask his dad for instructions, his father was a consummate liar, about the only thing he was good at.

Fox host corners Bush for giving tax cuts to the 1%: ‘Does Jeb Bush need a $3 million tax cut?’

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush suggested that the wealthiest top 1 percent of Americans would receive more benefits from this tax plan than the middle class because “that’s just the way it is.”

During a Sunday interview on Fox News, host Chris Wallace pointed out that Bush’s assertion that cutting taxes would generate more revenue for the government was an idea that his father, George H.W. Bush, had called “voodoo economic” when Ronald Reagan tried a similar plan.

“You gave your tax plan to four conservative economists who said that it would increase the deficit between 1 and 3 trillion dollars over the next ten years,” Wallace explained. “Now, Ronald Reagan proposed something roughly similar — big tax cuts — back in 1980 and he argued that the dynamic effect — the word you used — the growth would end up paying for the revenue loss.”

“You know what your dad called that?” Wallace noted. “Is this your version of ‘voodoo economics’?”

It's nice to see JEB including Haitian Caribbean Culture, so diverse.

Jeb Bush plummets in the polls as Carson pulls even with Trump

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush apparently is out of the top tier of Republican presidential contenders, a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll indicated Sunday. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina surged into the vaccuum while real estate mogul and celebrity candidate Donald Trump retained his front-runner status, the poll of 1,000 people Sept. 20-24 indicated.

Bush has gone from a frontrunner to a sideshow. "Some 7 percent of Republican primary voters named Mr. Bush as their top pick for the GOP nomination, down from 14 percent in July and 22 percent in June," the Journal reported.

Fiorina, riding the wave of attention and praise following a strong performance on CNN's second Republican presidential debate Sept. 16, scored 11 percent as did Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

Still El JEB is ahead of Perry and Walker.

Of course that's the way it is. If you cut 1% from everybody's tax bill, those paying the most would benefit the most. If somebody is paying 1,000,000 in tax and that is reduced by 1%, that is a reduction of $10,000. If somebody else is paying $1,000 in taxes, that person would enjoy a reduction of $10.00. Those who pay no taxes would get nothing back.

Untrue. We've been believing from jump street. It's people like you who actually don't give a fuck. On so many intersectional social layers that would be useless talking about on this forum because you can't ever see or understand them.

Since most murders of white people are by those other white people, which would force you to admit in the same shitty logic vein that white people don't even believe that their own white lives matter. And we know you'll never admit to saying that. So that's how that bullshit flushes.

Zumi pretty much already nailed this. However you do know that the only reason to bring this fact up in a discussion is an attempt to suggest that black lives don't matter.

Fer fucks sake learn to fucking quote. It's not that goddamn difficult. I'm not saying I've never goofed when I multi-quote a wall of text or multiple posters or posts but seriously, this is like an every single fucking time with you think. It's not a random typo, it's you lacking the basic skills or the quarter of a fuck necessary to give not to botch it consistently.

Except you don't need to cut everybody's taxes by x%. That one of the reasons we have a progressive tax system. You can cut taxes for the middle class and raise them for the top if you so desire. Or you can cut taxes for the middle class that don't effect the rich much at all. I think it's a safe bet that someone who's making 500k a year isn't really going to care much what rate his first 10k is taxed at.

I believe most people believe black lives matter. Those who don't are mostly other black people, and you can see that by the fact that most murders of black people are by those other black people.

And this ^^^ isn't the only reason this board needs to disappear.

*insert Donald Trump running for president*

Nobody ever. But the government can solve lots of problems. You're almost always dealing with an idiot when they bring that up.

Just look at the laundry list of problems that the right-wingers want the government to solve. Could they be any needier?
