Well, loosely. But with maybe a god who is ready to retire. So he picks a Frenchman to take over, whose family has had a major role in shaping every nation on Earth. He is also a complete pessimist and cynic, so he is the ideal choice to give some hope by giving him the power.
This God is basically the same as Morgan Freeman's character, but perhaps a little less conventional. I'm going with a twist that God retires every 1,000 years, to be replaced by a new God. Hence the contradictions in Scripture, etc.
My character, the new God:

Bisexual, but with a focus on TG lately. There are reasons that become apparent here. I'm looking for a main love interest for him who is a TG.
Old God is up to you guys. One of you can be him. But, of course, going with Morgan Freeman, he should be black.
