The phone company sent me a $650 bill for 7 cell phone accounts I didn't open. A phone store at San Diego opened all the accounts with stolen info and no deposits following a credit check of me. I live in Florida. A month ago I contacted the phone company, alerted them to the fraud, and they refused to act unless I faxed them more of my personal info.
So I complained to the Florida Public Utility Commission after I got the bill yesterday, and they sent my complaint to the State Attorney General, Fraud division.
Several years ago I discovered that hospital clerks steal and sell our info to criminals, especially if we have good credit. I imagine and suspect much of the computer hacking is clerks with the target agencies and corporations.
