Jazz Lovers

David Sanborn - Soul Seranade and Richard Elliot - As I sleep, are both very sensual pieces with good bass and rythm for foreplay and initial coitus.

Candy Dulfer, Jeff Beal Lee Ritenour and Mindy Abair get a little faster paced and funkier for deeper into the action. ;)

Brian Setzer's rendition of Sleepwalk is almost the perfect "afterglow" piece.

Those are all instrumental and mostly sax, if you prefer vocals:

Pretty much anything by Nora Jones, Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr. Natalie Cole, Luther Vandross, etc are going to fill the bill pretty well.

I'm assuming you are looking for the softer and more sensual sex here. If you're looking for the headboard-banging-the-wall-crazy-animal-sex kinda thing you might try some modern Swing like Brian Setzer Orchestra, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Inigo Swing, Speakeasy or the Royal Crown Review.

What music would you play if you were planning a romantic seduction scene?

Thanks!

Ella Fitzgerald style female singing jazz most likely, but have always wondered what a sex session to some hardcore bebop would be like.

EDIT: Just wanted to add Joe Satriani as being a good source for mind blowing sex. :D

I highly recommend Nina Simone-especially anything of hers with Ella Fitzgerald. George Benson is an excellent choice and I enjoy Spyro Gyra-especially their Got the Music CD.
Marc Antonie is another good one with an erotic sound. I was told about his cd Urban Gypsy and love it. Edgar Wallace Jr and John Klemmer are great choices for a romantic and sensual evening.

Nina Simone gets my vote along with, oddly, some Fiona Apple.

Personally, I don't want to hear anyone singing when I'm seducing. It's like having a third person there.

I'd suggest Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" or "Sketches of Spain": cool heat.

Anything by the Modern Jazz Quartet, but especially "Pyramid". It rises and falls like one, long, shuddering breath. No one uses silence as well as the MJQ's John Lewis.

I'm with the doc. Kind of Blue has to be one of the best mood Jazz pieces. I play it a lot when I'm writing. Johnny Coltrane - Standards is up there for me.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I've never really been into jazz but you make it sound very sexy. Especially the progression you described Dranoel.

I'll definitely check those artists out!

BTW: If you can time it right, "Take 5" by The Dave Brubeck Quartet is a great climax. The drum solo sounds almost like fireworks going off. ;)
