"01/20 - Happy Monday! ....Literotica has never used pop-up advertising. If you see any pop-up ads while visiting this site, or if you just want to check your computer for spyware, click here to take our new Spyware Browser Test. "

People were having trouble with pop ups, so that is nice to see them respond to the issue.

As an aside, I am in a yahoo chat group and the other day another poster brought up a discussion concerning yahoo's privacy act...or lack there of.

It seems that yahoo allows their sponsors to use "beacons" as well as using the cookie method of "conducting market research."

IT just made me think back to a few threads in recent weeks.

That is all.

Carry on!

Despite the Clique's paranoia and denials, the fact is that internet advertisers want to know who you are and will continue to use anything they can get away with in this unregulated medium.

I gather it's a response to our having discussed the issue here recently.

Not really. I seldom go to the front page of the site, but I first noticed it sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. (before the threads about security popped up.)

WH is correct. Mention of the lack of pop-up ads or spyware dates back at least a month or more.

lance, laurel has always referenced that web page when people complain about pop ups

THis is abosolutely true.

Advertisers are beginning to use Flash to make ads, which is a very... very...VERY scary prospect. Flash code can do anything. Loading a banner ad could easily install spyware or even a virus.
