Jagged's Place

That is what the sigh says on the front of the three story brick building. Granite blocks with a huge satelite dish on the roof and a wind sock. The dish is not because Jagged to cheap to get a new one but this one can get TV throughout the galaxy. The building is in Markus Square with the police station in the center.

Going clockwise is Jagged's Bar and grill. Next there is all night deli. Open 24/7 it is a great place to grab a sandwich (two sizes large and extra large only) and a homemade rootbeer. Though it is not on the square next to the deli is the old dirty road that leads down to farmer Brown's place. He supplies all the fresh supplies for those in the town and often is a visit to Jagged's on the weekends with the wife. He has cabins for rent if you want good country air and maybe some hunting and fishing.

At the bottom of the square is the main road which is paved but the square has all brick for its road. Just before you make the left you will see The Copy Shop which has tons of office supplies copiers and computer terminals, mail boxes for rent, and a hot coffee on for the late night projects. You will pass a tall flag pole though next to the department of DPW building. An old stone building from the last century. It has a fenced in gate and often has trucks, dumb trucks, snow plows, and cherry picker trucks parked there in the yard. Out side the gate is the memorial to all the local national guard members who died in defense of the town fighting the Maritans.

Next to that building is the train station. A nice old building with trains running all most anywhere at all hours. One maybe leaving for Scotland while another is going to 1920's Africa. The vending machines are interesting and put in a unwrinkled $1 bill and you can get a roast turkey dinner or Peking duck for two that tastes great. Another machine will have items like a grappelling hook, .45 pistol with holster, as well as a fashionable fedora all suited for adventurers. Soda is there of coarse but not any typical brands but all good. The lobby is confortable with recliners inside of the typical unconfortable seats. Next to that before you get to Jagged's Place is Hank's Camping and hunting supply.

It is a huge building made of would with a red sign on the roof. You will find everything you will need for an expedition into the wilds. The place is the size of an airplane hanger and is only slightly shorter then Jagged's building. The shelves are stacked with all kinds of interesting items from shotguns, to tepees, to vehicles to travel into the artic regions. Right now sled dogs are on sale and lenghts of 50' of rope as well.

The Markus Square police station sits in the center of the square. It is a three story brick tower with a neon police sigh out front. In the back is a yard with brick walls and a gate which holds its blue police cruisers. The insides of the station are actually bigger then outside which is a good thing since the Square's police force boasts some 4000 British like police officers. Sounds like alot and you would be right. The force was a result of an acident at the Copy Shop. Hank junior was running off a hundred copies of a flier which depicted four bobbies ( one had a lantern, another a shotgun, another pistol and another with his club out) to advertige a sale of police supplies.

Most worry about putting in a flier the wrong side. Hank didn't ask for help making a copy and though he printed it right he hit the wrong switch. He hit animate. And soon the Copy Shop was filling with confused police officers. The town fathers soon found a solution and that is how the station came into being. Also a sigh saying staff is required for operation of the copiers.

Now on to Jagged's Place....

If you look into the two large windows in the front you will see many wooden tables and chairs and a long bar with many bottles behind it. It is sectioned off with repeats of the same bottles a few times. The three bartenders the O'brian brothers are always there willing to serve.

You will notice though that there are only three types of glasses served at the bar small (shots and cocktails) medium (wine and beer) and large (huge beer glasses) and all look like beer mugs. No matter the drink it is always priced by size so always $1 to $3 dollars. Don't worry about breaking them though You will notice the cold glasses often come out of a cabnet on the wall. With a sparkle of light new one will replace the one taken. More then a few patrons have thought they have had one to many when they see that odd occurance.

The ceiling displays all kinds of hanging items from a large chinese dragon and biplane models. Then you make it to the stage where all kinds of acts appear. Wednesdays though Vanessa comes in to do her belly dancing and fan dance. Thursday through Saturday night you are most likely to see Panama the VanHalen tribute band or Homicidal Lesbians a all girl biker band. If the band isn't there the juke box has a wide selection. There are also a lot of plasma screen tvs for the partons to enjoy the some 380 channels valiable to the patrons.

Now the neighborhood has a lot of good food and patrons are welcome to bring it in but the kitchen run by a chef James is the best of bar food. American and Chinese food are the options. You can get either beer batter fries and a cheese steak or brown rice and steamed dumplings. Portions are large and always good. James will often make the rounds to see if patrons like the food, watch the game and have a beer. He has two kitchen robots to help out so he does enjoy his breaks.

The two waitresses working the place are Ursula and Tammy. Ursula is bit of a mystery she is a busty woman with graying hair and sassy attitude. Even Jagged isn't sure of her age (on the application she wrote, You never ask a Lady) and she mentions things like, "I loved to play with the Czar's children," and "ah we thought the Great War would be no different." She is very sexy and flirt but says she is two young to be married. She crashes on Jagged's couch in his top floor office from time to time and takes care of him and sees that his house is in order (no small feat considering Jagged's work habits.) Tammy is a bubbly rich girl who has the record for using the word like in a sentence. She can be seen coming in 15 minutes late ever day for the evening shift at the bar in her pink jogging suit and white sneakers always with a different hair style. She is peirced and crazy. She will refer to Ursula as mom sometimes in a giggling manner. She will brag about what parties she goes to, how much she can drink, and oddly enough about her 3.8 grade point average. (though she has been going to college for 5 years she just keeps picking new majors.) This odd pair often is wearing the uniform of sneakers, jeans, White tees witht he bar's name on it and green aprons which is the color most seen in the bar (natkins, place matts, match books...etc) Tammy sometimes is seen in an apron, sneakers, and thong. Jagged runs a tight ship though for the most part and the place runs just fine.

The building has a lot of interesting sections. In the basement there is a machine that reprocesses all the water from the sinks and toliets. Befor eyou gag though know this alien technology makes the water taste like spring water. Next to it is a small nuclear reactor run on safe clean power crystals. The wine cellar is fully stocked and is accessable with a dumb waiter besides the basement steps. In case you were wondering though the bathrooms are in the back for men and women. Each are both alike except for the men's having urinals of coarse. Each has 8 stalls which have a toliet of coarse but each includes a sink, a couch, a mini fridge, and laptop on desk. Many take turns using these spaces. Just before you get to the bathrooms though are four pool tables and two dart boards. All free just wait your turn.

The second level has apartments for rent that are pretty nice and are geared more towards gypies. Each apartment is rented month by month so travellar can stay and go as they please. Just don't have to mind living above a bar. Jagged's apartment is the whole top level and the stairway door is locked. It not because he is unfriendly and can often be see among the partons or behind the bar. He has an office on the first level though and when he is there it is all business. Otherwise he is a fun guy.
