I recently read a book that had the following bit of introspection form a general considering his nation's battle standard:

he'd drawn his cock across that hallowed silk more than once... A strange feeling, to spill one's seed on the sacred. Quite delicious.
Of course, the character in question's a pervert, but it got me thinking:

What would it be like to do something like that?

WHy would someone do something like that?

I think this may contain the inklings of a story idea!

Reminds me of the first thing I ever read about Sade. I was just curious about the fellow who was so fucked up he had a whole branch of sexual deviancy named after him, and the very first paragraph was the story of how he beat the shit out of a hooker and then forced her to watch as he masturbated onto a crucifix.

Now the crucifix thing, I guarantee you there are some perverts on here who would love to see that one written out. However, it's also fairly certain there's some devout Christians who would flame that story every day until the author or Lit took it down.

Is that why we call our national flag the Union Jack?

Its called the Union Flag, the Union Jack is the battle standard that flies atop a British naval vessel. ;)

I don't get why christians have to be so uptight about pretty much everything.

If they're devout Christians, why would they be here?

Take it up with St. Paul, it was his idea.

I gather it's because they disagree that voracious sexual appetites and love for Christ aren't mutually exclusive. But you could always pop into the Christian Writers thread in AH and ask them.

As to why Christians are so uptight, I think we should expand that statement to include all religions, but narrow it again to include only the nuts of every religion. And the answer is - in my opinion - because they can't accept anyone having different beliefs than them. I've known plenty of religious people who are secure in their beliefs and believe that everyone has the right to choose differently from them, and when they see shit like Southpark having a statue of Mary bleeding out her ass they just change the channel. Other people think gays should die because homosexuality is wrong in their book, which is obviously right because they believe in it. Some people are just assholes.

I take your point that it is only the religious nuts that are so over the top, I suppose I am a little defensive lately due to the amount of abuse I received from the christian entity on a political board lately, basically I was told that because I didn't believe in their god I was not only going to burn in hell, but I was also mentally sick and disturbed. But then I suppose I deserve it believing in free thought and being against organised religion.

Does that mean it is only used that way by sailors?

Only by the officers on the bridge, the rest of the crew have to make do with kleenex printed to look like the flag. d :D

I used to have a big mad on against Christians, too. You can only be told you're going to hell so many times before you get fed up with it ;op There's a very good quote I heard though before: 'Judge Christianity by Christ alone'. I personally take that as meaning people are pricks, God's probly not.

As for the organized religion thing, I find it funny when people try to blame our woes on that (admittedly, I used to do that as well ;op). If you don't believe in these religions and feel that their books are patently false, then you must believe people have written these books and not God. Then it's people coming up with these asinine ideas and enforcing them on one another, using them as excuses to commit atrocities. Plus, it's not like Atheists don't do horrible things. People just have the capacity to do very evil things. Normal people that you live next door to can turn into mass-murderers with the right motivation - there's certainly been enough genocides to prove that.

Well, since I've now depressed myself, I may as well go read some Amicus threads.

I agree with you that athiests can do evil things too, I didn't mean that only organised religion can lead to evil, but when an individual decides to brain wash a mass of people into believing that they must follow your rules, have no ambition, no pride in themselves, give a percentage of their money to you and go out and convert complete strangers into your belief, then they would be heavily critisised in the media and possibly arrested, but do it in the name of a well standing religion and you are doing gods work.

Organised religion is the worlds greatest confidence trick, it deprives you of the money that you worked hard for and keeps you subservient to them, it even tells you in the bible to pay your taxes, if thats not a big giveaway to the fact that it was written by men and not some all knowing god ten I don't know what is, after all what does god care if you pay your taxes?
