There's a lot of forms of torture that have an equivalent in the SM world - sensory deprivation and electrical shock, to name two. But I've noticed that there's one fairly classic form of torture that you rarely ever hear of people enduring willingly as part of a scene, and furthermore, I think I now know why. I'm talking about the old needles under the fingernails.
I believe discovered why today. I let my fingernails grow long for when I domme (all the better to scratch you with, my pet), but today I subbed. On my knees on the bed, my hands bound, my bottom glowing nicely from a hard spanking, my dom took me from behind. However, when I came, I accidently bent a fingernail completely backward. Hard enough that it was stuck that way and had to be cut down to the quick.
This is why fingernail torture, for lack of a better term, is so rare. It really, really frigging hurt! For the first time ever, I had to use my safe word to end the scene so I could do something about my fingernail. And now my finger is red and it still hurts!
I guess this is paying my dues, since we got a good deal on a used car today. Sigh.
