If someone jumps on someone then there seems to be a pack who follow right behind and jump on them as well and continue with the verbal beating.

It wouldn't irritate me so much but it seems to be the same people who do it over and over again. It seems to me that these people don't have an original thought of their own and follow around on the heels of those that do in the hopes that they appear 'cool'.

Take responsibility for your own words and thoughts.

Damn!

Does this mean I can't post in Starfish's new thread? :D

My two cents worth. This is an open forum. Everyone should be able to express their opinion without being attacked. Those with divergent opinions can certainly express those opinions politely without malice aforethought. Those who can't politely express an opnion should just keep their opinions to themselves. :)

Here's my original thought....

When is Sears going to start selling Woody Allen's orgasmatron?

would that be the single users model? I heard they had problems with the orignal version

Trend?

I thought it was human nature-get a whiff of blood and jump on over to see if you can score yourself a big bite out of the poor creature's already tortured ass.

ignoring people is a fun way to get steam to shoot out of thier ears.

but only sometimes.

i'm of the mind "You give some, you get some".

i also think some of the drama on the board has been scaring away potential newbies.

not that i know what's going on.

I do. And they still don't fuck off.

That's what the iggy button is for! *smirks*

How utterly vague and unproductive. Who are these "same people"? What's the point of generally pointing fingers? Directly pointing out the perceived problem - and the perpetrators - is the only way the issue will be addressed. As it now stands, no one will own up to your accusations.

She's probably talking about me and a few others, but she doesn't have the guts to name names.

What she fails to realize is that a lot of the people on the "bandwagon" i.e. Lavender, Dixon Carter Lee, KillerMuffin, etc, are some of the most original thinkers here (BTW, I am not necessarily including myself in this category).

So what if several people want to tell someone they are full of shit? Does that mean they are jumping on the bandwagon, or that they just happened to have the same thoughts at the same time?

And so what if someone gets "ganged-up" on? In my experience, the overwhelming majority of the time when someone is truly "ganged-up" on, they fucking deserved it.

You can pm Laurel and ask her to institute the "only one person can tell any other person that they fucked up" rule, but I think she would see it as a clear infringement of speech.

pb i assume you are talking about what's going on always' threads. you may not know this but she has a bad reputation here. she posted diabolical lies about her family being involved in the events of 9/11. just other day, i was talking to my lisa and said how anyone can do such a thing. starfish, pc and co has their regitimate reason to be angry with her. so before starting an argument prematurly i thought i let you know about tis. :)

hi, pc.;)

I'm a bitmuddled on the last part of your post, PC. Is that directed at me?

No, sorry, it was for PB. Her (and lots of others here) complain about things that are never going to change, and if you can't change it, what's the point of bitching about it? Unless you're going for a laugh, of course, but it's pretty obvious she wasn't trying to be funny.

Point is, there is no way you're going to change human nature, so deal with it and move on.

I don't think she was talking about that thread, because she started this thread before always started hers. Perhaps she will come back to this thread and eleborate a bit more about exactly what she meant so we don't have to keep guessing.

Oh yeah... fuck off, twit. ;)

Correct.

Free Speech comes with responsibilities. It means that when you express your opinion, you do so knowing that others have the right to express their opinion on your opinion. It means people have the right to be caring, kind, helpful, articulate, idiotic, stupid, and rude. Others have JUST AS MUCH right to their opinion as you do, no matter how rude, stupid, or misguided you find theirs to be.

I'm no one's mother. I'm not here to "protect" anyone from words they don't like. We remove spam, we remove personal information, and we remove threats of physical violence. However, removing people because they disagree with others or because they don't like others is contrary to the idea of Free Speech. This is an adult forum, so people are expected to handle themselves like they would in any other adult situation.

You don't like someone? Don't deal with them. There are lots of other fun people to play with. :)

Are you running for Miss Arizona or something?

Methinks this is a lost cause.
I personally don't mind a bit of antagonism if it's directed properly. Don't tell me I am fucked up if you don't understand what I am saying. Tell me I am fucked up because I am fucked up.
But, if you don't have anything better to do than to mess with someone, read a book.
All in all, let's give each other a chance to express ourselves, positve or negative. We just have to accept who we all are and go on with our lives.
I do agree with a previous post. If you are upset about what someone does or says and you make an issue of it, please use that person(s) name(s). It makes it easier for everyone when you just say it!
I don't believe names were withheld because of someone being chicken, I think that no one wanted to say anything other than he or she was upset. At least, that is how I took it.
We can't all get along, but we can at least learn to get over it.
