or in simpleton terms, I quit and they can stick it. :D

You'd think I'd be all sad and worried and freaking out. Nope, I feel like a HUGE weight has been lifted from my shoulders.. and the stress- caused sick feeling in the pit of my stomach is gone. No more migraines, and no more pissed off, grouchy-ass Licky.

2 years and 3 months of being loyal to a company who valued me for nothing. I made kibbles compared to what these newly hired kids are making. Fuck that.

Done Done Done! YaY!

I gets to sleep in tomorrow.. I gets to be with my kids instead of dropping 'em off at the sitters daily. :D I can clean my house now.

I'm freeeeeeeeeee.

You work for my company, too? Wish I had the cajones to walk out. YOU GO, Lickerish!

Oh my god.
This is me.

I resigned Wednesday night.
Called my boss and said in NO uncertain terms That he could stick his job where the sun dont shine.

Ass i worked nights, from now on i'll be home when my boy gets home from school.
I'll be home to do all the mum stuff.
And MAYBE,just maybe,i wont be to exhausted for sex.

I've been threatening it for over a year, I kept thinking things will get better. It's not, and it won't, and I'm laughing at all the poor fools I've left behind *muahahahahahaha*

Now I'm going to call the labor people and get a union in there.. they need it deperately.

I wonder if I can sue them for the loss of hearing in my left ear?

Congrats, licky...so this means now YOU can move HERE!! ;)

Well, I would *Brat*, but I've still got obligations here.. like my dad. Now convince him to move and I'd be A-OK with it :D

Good thing I paid off my car loan the other week, huh?! :D

Well, it is nice to be able to do that - I have never quit a job without having another one on hand. I have never been able to. Okay, I didn't reup when my enlistment in the CG finished, but that is a different thing.

I was trying to explain to my daughter last weekend how being in the military is akin to being in prison for many people. You serve time. I have some fond memories of the military, but they were fucked up too, and after 2-3 years I couldn't wait to get out.

Good for you Licky. No one should stay at a job that makes them feel un-appreciated. Takes alot of guts to do what you did!! Brava!

:D :D

That is so true! Ask any of them, "So how long have you been in?" and you'll get "Oh, I've got 10 (or whatever) months left to serve."

and hey Licky

I am so envious of you.

I am ssoooo envious of you.

I remembered the first job I ever quit from...I loved it!!! I went out and bought myself an ice cream. I had a backstabbing co-manager who kept spreading rumors behind my back but was sticky sweet to me to my face and in front of higher management. There were other factors, but the day I quit I made sure that I was supposed to be her night relief...she had been there since 7am and I was supposed to work 3 to midnight...but I walked in in jean (this was a hotel...unfortunately all my professional experience is in tourism...not a great industry in nyc right now) told her that I'd had it, and what a bitch she was and how she had never fooled me for a second. I dropped my management keys in the safe, blew her a kiss and walked out (and I did it in the back...I was a bitch, but I wasn't going to do it in front of guests). Afterwards I had a yummy ice cream cone in Harvard Square and celebrated my freedom.

*grin*

You rock babe, I resigned on Wednesday. I'm off to work the film industry.

Yay Licky!

I remember the day I quit my last job. I lovingly wrote the resignation letter during my first break, printed it out on the company printer, and put it on my boss's desk so he could find it when he got back from his coffee & donut run. What a wonderful feeling!

Savor it, Licky. :) Quitting a shitty job, good breakfast, and awesome sex are the things that make life worth living.

Yeah, I've yet to be fired from any job... I'm not new to the *couthness* of quitting, but this one really counted. I've seen Voicestream grow from a small 7 state covered company.. to an national company in less than 2 years.. and let me tell you, they've gotten too big for their britches. Now that this German company took over, things have gotten worse. They expect perfectionism... and I'm sorry honey, not all of us are perfect. They have way too high expectations and I was never going to make them happy at that rate.

They put me on a written warning for logging in a few minutes late, a few weeks ago.. they didn't care that it was because someone had shut down my computer overnight, and it wasn't ready to go at 8AM.. so I had to wait a few minutes for the system we use to log in, to boot up. That was their damn fault, not mine.

Today my supe gave me a final councel (last step before termination) because I logged in 2 SECONDS late on Monday.. wouldn't even listen to me when I tried telling her it's because they had changed my log in ID, and my old one wasn't working and I had to get the new ID. 2 SECONDS! Fuck that mutherfucking fucked up bull-fucking-shit. I walked into HR on my final break and told them I was resigning. The lady tried to talk me out of it.. but I said I'd rather leave with grace and dignity and on my own terms, rather than be fired next week for this bullshit. I would have given my 2 weeks notice, but I just knew they'd have me fired before then.

I can't even begin to tell you what the working conditions are like.. Juspar knows that I come home everyday in a foul mood.. and I'm tired of being angry-licky..I'm tired of the physical ailments the stress causes. I'm just tired.

I've got skills.. 2 years of computer/data entry, rocking customer service attitude.. finding a new job won't be too difficult. I just wish Voicestream would have seen me for how well my customers liked me and my ethics, not for some numbers on a fucking paper.

Oh well. I get to sleep in tomorrow. Nanny nanny boo boo.

I loves youse guys.

I sincerely hope that is true.

I've never burned a bridge when leaving a company. You never know when someone you piss off on your way out the door will have a chance to either help you or "pay you back: sometime in the future. The working world is a small place.

I can see why you didn't want to in this case, but two weeks notice is always a good idea. Let the company be the one to tell you they'd rather have you leave today. And, in general, have another job before you quit the one you have.

My practical 2 cents worth of advice.

LOL, you made the right choice babe. To be honest I'm surprised you gave them as much loyalty as you did.

Let me add - don't work for family.
