English police (the famous Bobbys with the tall funny shaped helmets) patrolling the streets of New York in solidarity with their American counterparts.

God I wish they had been dressed in something better than their traditional "dress" uniforms. They looked like a bunch of comic actors.

If I were an American I'd decline Tony's support on the grounds that it would reflect badly on the Hi-Tec capability of my country...

I don't care what they are dressed like. It is the thought and the gesture that counts. This is a cool thing. Someone else told me that all 350 of them paid their own travel expenses and took vacation time to come to NY to do that.

At least Tony Blair has the BALLS to stand up for what is right!

I dare say that there are many other world leaders that can say the same.

While not being fond of anything Brittish... other than the Royal Marines... I for one welcome the show of support.

That's one of the smacks against modern Liberalism. Ever willing to denigrate the customs and traditions of the past in order to look egalitarian and all...

P.P. Man , all the policeofficers paid for their own flights , hotels , lost their holidays for it ....I know one that is there ...
