I've got a techie question about Lit..

It will not let me log off, at all!! I click 'log off' on the main page and it says 'cookies are cleared' but when it goes back to the main page, there I am.. logged in again. Currently my settings for user options are as follows:

-Invisible Mode?
yes

-Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)
no
-Browse board with cookies? Clicking yes will use cookies to keep your id for this session. Clicking no will send it through the links. (Selecting no may cause problems when sharing links with people behind the same proxy as you)
no

I have tried a combo of everything and w/o fail it will not let me log off.. it always says 'Welcome Lickerish' at the top of the main page.

What else can I do?

This is Ezzy (no it's not)
OK here was how I got it to work in the end.

Click log out on the first page of the BB.
When you go to the next screen close your browser.
Left click My Computer.
Left click main drive (C drive or what ever you have set with your O/S on it).
Left click Windows.
Left click Cookies then click Edit ,Select All.
Right click in the window then click delete.
back click to the main Windows Directory.
Left click the Temporary Internet Files, then Edit, Select All.
Right click in the window then click delete.
Restart your browser and TADAAAAAAAA clean no cookies to the site you get to log on again.

i've got a different problem.... i'm having the hardest time posting anything on here... every time i hit submit reply, it starts to supposedly submit, gives me a 404 error, then i have to hit refresh, back, then submit reply again and it submits then... am i the only one with this problem... or is this just sumthin that's really f***ed up?

Ezzy's solution is the only one I know of for the logout problem. I haven't taken the time to tryy and find a more efficient way to do it.

The problem seems to be that the board will use cookies regardless of the selections in you CP, so the only way to use more than one name is to get rid of the cookies.

You might try setting your browser's security level to disallow cookies and find all of the old cookies and delete them. The Find Files function will help. (The cookie on my system is named harold@www.literotica[3].txt for Literotica.)

Searching for any *.txt file on your system that contains the word Literotica" should turn up every copy of the cookies you need to delete.

I have this problem occassionally. It is usually associated with busy threads where there is another post with the same time stamp as mine when I finally get it to post. I have also had my connection to the net cause 404 errors because the modem doesn't have a clean connection.

I also have a program for may scanner that every once in a while will take over my system and cause it to slow down to the point where IE5 takes forever to load an HTML file from disk, and will time out to a 404 error for a page coming from the web. You may have a program that is causing a similar problem on your system.

However, Most of the 404 errors I've gotten since the new board went up, have been caused by problems with the literotica server upgrade or Manu tinkering with the software. Most of those problems are over with though.

If your problem only occurs with posting replies, then watch the times of the posts surrounding yours. When two people post at the same time, this version of the BB seems to get hung up on deciding file-sharing conflicts when it tries to post two replies at the same time.

I had this probelm too. I logged out, then cleaned out my cookie files, history files and temp internet files, then rebooted...it seemed to work.

I've written to the webmasters a week ago and got NO REPLY. Very frustrating. Here's what's happening to me:

or the online roleplay (http://www.literotica.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=10)

All I can do is log out.... go to the forums index (http://www.literotica.com/forum/index.php?) search painfully for the thread in the sexual roleplay where I started a few days ago (http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=35007)... and post a reply!

I can also enter the calendar (http://www.literotica.com/forum/calendar.php?), the members page (http://www.literotica.com/forum/memberlist.php?) or the FAQ (http://www.literotica.com/forum/misc.php?action=faq)...

But I can't access the control panel: it asks me to log in and then I get stuck (see above).

If clearing out you cookies won't help, try going to you 'c'drive, then 'windows', then 'temporary internet files'. Go up to edit, select all, the move over to files, and click on 'delete'. Give a try, and let us know

New User Name was the only way...

Due to the settings I used when registering as "Beryl", the only thing I could at Literotica was to post (see above).
Unfortunately, the webmasters never answered my pleas for help and members were unsuccesful at clearing that issue.

The only thing I could do was to create this new user name... and start my posting counter from scratch.
Courtesan Beryl is now a fully operational ID!
