In preparation for my reboot, I've been playing around with some of the recipes for juices.
So far, I've made...
tomato, carrot, celery and lime
carrot, beetroot and orange
tomato, carrot, red pepper and parsley
kumera, celery, ginger and orange
cucumber, celery, apple, kale, lemon and ginger.
They've all been quite nice, given that I've never tried this kind of juice before.
The only complaint I have is that the recipes that have celery tend to taste almost entirely of celery.
Anyone else here do the juice thing?
Any recipes or tips?

spinach rocks, let it bathe in cool water and swished it so the dirt and sand falls off.

What do you blend it with?
I can imagine spinach on it's own would be awful!

it plays well with others.
spinach is goodness.
and strawberries.
bok choy is tasty juiced up.
oh man, i got the craves coming on.

I just got off the phone with Mum, and she went all skitz at me and warned me in no uncertain terms that THERE ARE VEGES AND FRUITS THAT SHOULD NEVER BE MIXED!
But conveniently couldn't remember which ones.
So now I've been trying to find something about this on google.
*sigh* my search skills are non-existant.
Have you ever heard of this?

really? got upset did she? are the veggies and fruits rude to each other?

I haven't heard of such a thing, but I am mostly ignorant of much.

I can vaguely remember other people's families having "rules" about certain food combinations which were supposed to cause "leather in/on the stomach" ~ whatever that means.

You can have my super-duper juicer. It's been used all of three times in two years.

I have failed to find a single reference to this, so I am going to assume it's crap.
Any fave juice blends you might like to share?

My ex-hubby's golden food rule... never mix fruit and meat.
Never really knew why.

Why is juicing any better than just eating a bunch of fresh fruits and veggies? I never understood what it's all about.

I have no idea.
But my doc approves of this juicing thing, and if it helps my migraines, it'll be worth the 30 days.

Oh right, I have heard that cleaning up after juicing is totally crappy. Another reason I have never investigated it.

How could juicing cure migraines?

No recipes just what I have on hand... and haven't tried onions.

I have a couple of recipes that use 1/2 a red (spanish) onion as an option.
The recipe above for kumera, celery, ginger and orange has the option. I didn't have any onion on hand, or I would have tried it.

It has something to do with detoxing and rebooting the body. At least, that's what the blurb says.
I'm guessing it has more to do with the fact that there will be absolutely zero processed foods being ingested during the juice fast... meaning no artificial contaminants to deal with.
Who knows what kind of chemical crap goes into our foods these days.
