I've been busy today but I've been having fun as well.
About a mile down the road from me is a large Mall. I remembered the traffic out front of my place last year and because of this I got things ready. I talked with the local Police and Fire Department and got their okay to do what I wanted. I had to abide by their rules which were easy to follow.
At noon I moved a lawn chair to the side of the road along with my Jump-Kit. Behind me in the hedge I had a hose curled up as well as a power line. Also alongside my chair were my tool box and a thermos jug filled with coffee. I had on my jeans, boots, a bright orange T-Shirt and a Traffic Vest.
It didn't take long for the fun and games to begin. The first accident happened at 1230. This one wasn't bad and I quickly had the pictures taken and the police notified as I stopped traffic and had the cars move to the side of the road. Traffic cones were set up guiding traffic out of the blocked lane and the people were checked out. When the police showed up they thanked me and took over the scene. I went back to my chair and waited for them to clear the accident scene. As they did so I recovered the cones and put them to the side.
My wife brought out my Lap Top and I set that up on a small table as I watched the traffic. I was well supplied with Cigars and my wife watched over the computer every time I went out in the road to help out.
I'm still out there right now although I've changed things around a bit. I'm now wearing a jacket under the vest and I have a light hanging over me so I can see to type. Traffic is still heavy as hell.
So far I have helped out at three accidents, (One of which resulted in the arrest of a driver for ramming a Motorcycle.) I have pushed eight broken down cars to the side of the road and fixed two of them. (The others required a Tow Truck which I called for.) I have called the Ambulance for one Byciclist who dumped his bike trying to go over the curb.
I have also witnessed more Road Rage than I care to think about.
Oh here is a picture of the traffic at what has to be it's lightest so far today:

I'll be out there again tomorrow.
