Itt We'd rather walk ten miles and be down on our luck than ride in a non-Ford truck.

Boy, we sure are badass to not accept a ride in a Dodge or something. Let's go sing country while wearing Oakley sunglasses, too.

Let's also make it glaringly clear that our hands are not even coming close to touching the strings on our guitars when we "play" them.

Ford Trucks blow I don't like that country singer specifcly because of that commercial whatever his name is.

You know why Ford sells more F-150s then anyone else? They are cheap and I mean very cheap. The only reason ford can claim to sell more F-150's and Taurses is because they sell so many hundreds of thousands as fleet vehicles. Companies are going to buy the cheapest vehicle they can even if they aren't that great and the cheapest vehicle is the F-150.

I have not looked up the numbers in a while but a few years ago it cost Ford between 5000-8000 dollars to make the average
F-150. That same truck sells for between 17,000 to as much as 30,000 plus for a fully loaded truck.

But Azwed, he's such a badass! He wears a T-shirt WITHOUT SLEEVES!!!!!

I bought a new Expedition last week, and I've never even seen the commercial.

It's not easy carrying my family and pulling my boat or stock trailer with a Honda.

And Spin, since when is $17K to $30K... considered "cheap?"

To each their own.

Because no one else makes or sells a F-150?

Chevy sold more Vegas than anyone else.

It's cheap because it is not worth the money. Inexpensive is a whole different word.

I have 60K on my F150 and have only replaced the turn signal switch. (Ford calls it a multi switch) I personally think it is a crap shoot on any car or truck you buy. Dodge has lemons and so does Chevy.

However, only an idiot would buy a tshirt with no sleeves.

How bad is it that my Suburban is leaking radiator fluid?

When and where does it leak? How much is it leaking?

It could be the hoses, the radiator, or the water pump.

Take it to Auto Zone and tell them that you think a hose is leaking but you're not sure which one. Chances are, they'll check it for you. I was driving my dad's van and it started leaking, the guys at Auto Zone were very helpful.

SaintPeter's 24 Hour Auto Service is always willing to check under Ruby's hood.

Thanks morninggirl. I hope it's something simple (read: cheap). A friend is going to come look at it tomorrow for me.

Peteypie, I'm ready to be serviced.

It's always simpler to get a friend to fix something than to take it in to a repair shop.

My definition of simple is the same as yours.

I have a 2002 Toyota Corolla. :D

Had a hell of time getting the gunrack in the back. :p

Autozone can pressure test it for you. Basicly what they do is hook up a pump to where your radiator cap is and presurize the system manualy. Then they watch the gauge on the pump and see how quickly the pressure drops if it is below a certain number of lbs per minute then there is a big leak some where in the system. Normaly while the pressure test is going on you will be able to see the leak. They should defnietly be able to see it if it is a hose and hoses are no big deal to replace.

You know that is the second time Texan has gotten my confused with Spin maybe he needs new classes or something.

17,000 is what a normal consumer would be for a bare bones F-150. Actually it might even be a little less then 17,000 if you get a manual instead of an automatic. A business buying several F-150's for fleet use would probably pay 13,000 or so thousand.

So lets say it costs ford 6,000 dollars to make that truck, I actually think it is less then that, and they sell it for around 13,000. That is 46 Percent profit. You don't get 46 Percent profit on cars they just cost too much to build.

17,000 for a full sized truck is pretty cheap. I don't think you could find a new one any cheaper then that from any other automaker.

I can get a refurbished T34/85 or JS-II from a place in England. That would be really cool during the morning rush hour.

I think I'd go with the JS-II. It costs about $5,000.00 (US) more, but I think the crew compartment is bigger.

No you need an amphibious jeep or Duck Boat.

They both are pretty damn rare though. Might not be any amphibious jeeps left.

Yeah, but the JS-II has a 122mm high velocity cannon. And armor impervious to pretty much anything but anti-tank weapons made after 1960.

Chicks dig big cannons.

Of course, the T-34/85 does have that "sports tank feel" while still packing a 85 millimeter wallop and pretty decent armor, at least for WWII vintage AFVs.

Chicks dig boats too though you gotta remember that. You will probably have an easier time getting her to sunbathe nude on top of the Duck Boat then on top of a tank turrett.

New or Used.....

Spend 20-50K for a truck? Where did they come up with that marketing strategy?

I wouldn't pay that kind of money except for a down payment on property, or a house. Is it status, or just that new car smell that clouds people's judgment?

Yup, I would pay 20-50K for something I'd be afraid to scratch, throw food around in, and haul manure. I wouldn't even think of putting myself behind a steering wheel with that loaded gun called an airbag.

A truck used to stand for a vehicle you could do dirty chores with, fix yourself, and not sacrifice 1-2 years worth of income for.

I have a Dodge Ramcharger 4X4, a former city supervisor vehicle, fleet maintained, am radio, bare bones, as is Harley orange and black. it cost me about $4400, and has a little over 100K miles.

So far, no cost in anything other than tuneups.

I'm glad there's people out there that feel the cost of a new "truck" is worth it.
