See if anyone is up for a chat.

It is incredibly late, but here I am studying....
Does anyone want to keep me company?

I love a good (or not so good conversation) - from music to movies to politics and anything inbetween. If you happen to be an Anthropologist, we'll get along just fine :)

Basics about me: I'm 6'10", decent shape and getting better. Black hair (shaved), goatee and blue eyes with gold halos.
If you feel like chatting with a guy who digs in the dirt - say hi :)

Hmm. Anthropology? Got any theories about the sexual behavior of our ancestors? I'm actually seriously interested. ;)

. . . . .

Thanks for the bump!

By ancestors, do you mean precedent AMH cultures or behaviours of ancestral hominins?
Best I can give you are the current thinkings, in that decreased canine teeth was probably due to decreased sexual pressure and lining up with more pair-bonding. Though that theory tends to side with sapiens being monogomus, which I don't believe, more that it was a created social construct, in order to avoid conflict as well as assist in propogating the species. It would be easier to control bloodlines and avoid too much inbreeding in a smaller population.
As for actual practices.... Probably similar to today......

Wow, thanks! I've seen some theories but no verified studies on sexual behaviors. Yes, coupling does seem logical in small communities to stop inbreeding, and jealousy... but today, is it really needed? ;) It certainly doesn't seem so. We have an abundance of people to choose from in our communities now and due to the sexual dissatisfaction (that I have personally witnessed) among 'life' couples, it seems logical now to 'expand our horizons'. ;)

yep..
Monagamy is reserved for old broads like me who still have a romantic notion floating around in their heads.

It's certainly not for everybody, no more than polyamory is the saviour of all the sexually destitute.

Anthropological and socioeconomic theories aside, some people just believe in one way or the other, regardless of what the sexual deviation du jour is..

I'm on the fence about monogomy, from an anthropological point of view.
From an evolutionary point of view... it doesn't make a lot of sense... even in "recent" history, male infant mortality rate was very very high... yet even in these socieities, monogomy was practiced.
It's an interesting thought....

Personally, I'm a fan of monogomy....

It was supposed to be a quiet day.... then I was busy for 10hours....
How was everyone else's day?

Feel like chatting?

Hey.... quiet night.... anyone floating around?
It's quite... too quiet... would love to have someone to chat with.

Life's too short to love just one person. ;)

Love and Monogomy are two different things though!

(ugh... I've been arguing all day.... and now we're into anthropology, which is my playground :D)

Love everyone you ever want. I love my parents, my friends at school, my best friend, etc.

And I have had multiple partners over time. I have, however, been monogomous with everyone.
It is crazy to think that you could meet someone at 14 and spend the rest of your life with them (though it has happened).

Some societies function in Polygamy/polyandry - and other function in monogamy.
So very much like societies, you need to find what works for you. :D

Sometimes I have no idea of molygamy or polygamy is best for me.
