I agree, it's time to put a stop to this shit. The US government should adhere to the agreement we made with Ukraine and actually step up and defend them as we promised to do.

This continuing "military support and money" thing isn't what we promised to do.

Congress should demand a full inventory of our military stockpiles to make sure that Biden isn't depleting them to the point of setting us up for a near future battlefield defeat. If we promised to defend them Congress needs to draft and vote on a AUMF in Ukraine and stop pretending this isn't an American proxy war with Russia while hiding behind dwindling Ukrainian fighting forces and infrastructure. You know if this war is fought to a standstill they are going to ask us to rebuild the place and make it whole again anyway.

Back in 1994 I think i was, the US, and also I believe the UK, gave Ukraine "security assurances" if it did away with it's nuclear weapons.

What a brilliant take from the RWCJ on how the U.S. should support Ukraine militarily at this critical moment in time.

🙄

The message to RUSSIA and RUSSIAN FORCES should be that they ain’t seen nothing yet when it comes to the conventional warfare capabilities of the west and, by extension, the Ukrainians.

Ukraine has been doing fairly well with the limited assistance provided so far.

The west increasing the quality and quantity of military assistance to Ukraine should fill the Russian forces in Ukraine with dread. I.E - demoralize them.

Demoralizing Russian forces, and by extension, the Russian people, is the best way to end this war, and, possibly, Putin.

👉 RWCJ 🤣

^ Found another Russian asset.

So play it out. The US stops supporting Ukraine, dominos fall and Russia defeats them and Putin puts his own lackeys in power. Then what happens?

I'm against letting Russia takeover Ukraine. I'm against putting boots on the ground and fighting their war for them. Giving them guns and equipment seems like the only viable option between those two. If anyone has a better cheaper option I'm all ears.

Make the Europeans foot more of the bill, it's their backyard. Already countries like Germany are getting wobbly. It's not up to us to defend all of Europe.

But if the US and Nato were to be directly involved in the fighting it would be an act of war
But somehow sending weapons and funding the Ukraine isn't an act of war.
Love that logic.
Nato could have all sent troops in through Poland and pushed Putin back months ago...but where would the profit lie in actually ending a war?

My question for you was what happens if Russia wins.
What happens if China defeats the US because we've squandered our defense stockpiles to the point of operational impotency? To your question, it won't if Europe sacrificed as much as we have. We are depleting our strategic stockpiles in South Korea and the Middle East and borrowing the money we're giving Ukraine and sending the bill to our great-grandchildren. Don't think the North Koreans, Iran, and China aren't keeping track of those depletions.

That's just an unrealistic scenario however. We have stuff the military didn't even ask for, we're not going to lose a fight with the joke that is China.

Either you're a leader or you're not.

The war in Ukraine is the effort of a totalitarian country who intends to snuff out Democracy. The USA is the leader of the free world.

In WW2, most of the Japanese leaders underestimated the production capacity of the US. So did the Germans. Even the UK was producing more aircraft than the Germans in 1940 and improved from 1941 onwards.

The stocks the US is sending to Ukraine could be replaced by the US defense Industry in less than a week.

Just think if Biden thought through the withdrawal from Afghanistan and sent all that equipment to the Ukraine. Thousands of HUMVEES, hundreds of MRAPs, NVGs and assorted surveillance equipment, up to 250,000 auto rifles and assorted machine guns, 100 or so drones, millions of assorted mortar rnds, 10.000 air to surface missiles, millions of small arms ammunition. What a waste.

This thread is about the Ukraine. There are other threads about Afghanistan.

What other Baltic countries are not in NATO that used to be USSR?? He will push on! Duh!!
Crimea was first to the West and South..

WRONG! Take years to replace Javelin anti tank systems (missiles) not CLUs. Takes 32 months from placement of orders and another 32 months for delivery. Used 7,000 already, nearly 1/3 rd of its inventory. Would take 4 years at full production to manufacture approximately 6,900 units in one year.

What are the present inventory numbers on the items mentioned in post #1? You don't know, do you? Congress would like to know as well. What if we don't have enough to help Taiwan if they are invaded, we actually have a long-standing defense treaty with them?
