These are the days that make the pain and bullshit of life worthwhile .. a day of love in any form.

And today .. my Tuesday, October 1, 2002, is all about love for my new neice.

And she's absolutely a beautiful little girl ... nearly 8lbs .. happy and healthy. My sister is doing very well .. tired as all hell, but so happy. My little neice was awake all day .. curious, lifting her head .. her big blue eyes looking wherever a voice came from. I held her and she kept reaching up toward my face when I talked to her...



It's been a fantastic day. Thank you all for your good wishes!

I toast you with my celebratory beer of the evening .. before I crash into bed..lol.

Ahh, I just can't get over it .. I'm her godmother, and will be her nanny when my sis goes back to work. All this time I've been waiting, researching and learning, so I can be the best caregiver and Aunt Cat I can for her...

And today I finally see her, hear her... and see my sis and brother in law just absolutely floored ... such feelings can't be described.

Is there such a thing as love at first sight? Oh, yes there is...

Warm congrats ceilaKittin, to you and your sis. Is this her second child (who had the nephew?)

Have you gotten to the nappy changing yet? Is sis home now? My advice for new moms from a friend and pediatrician: don't drop the child. Apart from that, theres not much you can do wrong if you give them lots of love. It sounds like you are exuding the latter.

Is niece a happy baby, or a crying version?
