It's the waiting that kills me.

Soooo I know it says "takes 3 to 7 days before posting" but darn it if I don't check every hour -.-;;;

What's the longest you ever had to wait? The shortest? I'm trying to gauge here :p

Also, on the boards, how do I get it to stop saying "virgin"? ANd where do I find a list of smilies I can use here. I must be blind because I can't find it T.T

Edit: ok it stopped saying virgin but I wanted to make my own or something...

As far as getting stories accepted? I waited over a week to get my recent one approved. I had some random person instant message me saying that they liked my story. lol That's how I found out. I checked every hour like you're doing. lol

If you want to stop being a virgin, you'll need to start fucking people... and fast!

I always obsess about when my story is going to post. I also obsess about scores and votes and views. It's insane.

I think the longest I've had to wait was 7 days and the shortest was 1 day for the Nude Day contest.

The smilies should be to the right of the text box on messages and thread posts. If you don't see them, you might have to go to your user cp and turn them on.

You can't change what your thingy says until you reach 1000 posts. You can't have an avatar until you reach 100 posts. Until then you are at the mercy of Lit. :)

ETA: I only have 2 stories posted. The first one took 7 days, and the second was the contest entry and only took about a day and a half. I didn't mean to make it seem like I have dozens. :p

AHHHH ok ty very much. I was at a complete loss, I thought I was just blind as a bat or something :p

Found the :nana: stuff, and I guess I'll just have to make a million posts

*checks again* damn still not posted.

The title under your name will change according to how many posts you have. You can't choose your own until you have 1,000 posts.

I submitted a story last sunday, and it has not posted yet.

I think they're behind, because the Nude day contest entries closed this week.

It's always taken me 7 days (for the ones that were accepted, rejections don't count). No more, no less. I guess I'm just average.

Stories take about a week, maybe longer :( if there is a contest going on and the stories are not entries. If they are entries, it takes about one day. :) Illustrated or audible stories take much longer, probably two weeks or more. :(

Poems post much more quickly, usually in one or two days.

If you are entering a contest, those stories get bumped to the front of the queue to maximize the time they are active during the voting period. This means that if you submit a non-contest story during a period of heavy contest story submittal, it will take an extra day or two. Also, certain categories take longer to post because they are handled differently (audio, and illustrated).

In general, for me, it takes about a week.

I've actually thought it might be interesting to start a "how long did you story take to post" thread. Where authors submit the current lag time between submittal and posting.

Yeah, but that implies we're actually submitting things. Some of us, okay, just me, seem to be spending a lot of time here and very little time with the word processing programs.

I posted two stories two days ago. Countdown clock has started.

I really wish Laurel and Manu would respond to PMs offering help- I know several of the people around the boards had offered to help check and approve/deny stories previously.

I don't mind waiting, for the most part. My first couple of stories, of course, I was biting my nails and checking three or four times a day to see if it had been posted. Now, I'm content to wait the usual five or six days it seems to take (or over a week if there's a contest).

Still, this most recent one I submitted last night has my antsy once again. Nothing like feeling like a virgin again. ;)

I submitted parts 1 &2 on thursday and part 3 on friday. I'm in the process of a part 4 which actually, all of the parts could be stand alone, but they bleed into each other so I made then all parts of the same story.

Was that a good idea? could that impeede the progress?

Also, submitting during a contest would make sense on the wait time :p
