peolple dont understand me.

you see i am a very sarcastic person and i make very sarky comments. In rl people find it difficult to determin wether or not i am being sarky as my tone of voice doesnt change very much (dont put that slighty higher derogatory tone of voice on)

this i feel is happening on lit as well, i dont know how to express my tones of voice to people here on lit.
my comments are sarky but they get taken the wrong way

any ideas on how to over come this without sending pm's to everyone saying

"im a sarky git habdle with caution"

See.... sarcasm doesn't come across well in text-only format.... I just add a ' :D ' at the end, usually

I think that brits in general use sarcasm and irony more in their day to day conversations and certainly i humour - which a lot of Americans dont tend to as much

I am NOT saying that the vast majority of the US do not understand an ironic comment but some
