Are you hunting right now?" but phones don't work up here, so you wind up calling people's houses and being like, "Your kid hunting right now?" "You know if Wayne's home?" "Y'hall wanna come help me run off some poachers?"

People want the fucking money from the mines, but then want to still get the meat from the untouched land. Either keep your fucking land or use your goddamn money to buy some fucking meat.

Planned to be at the cabin this last weekend and call one in, but the flood fucked up my plans. Tore out the road in a few places. Cabin is high and should be fine. I need to get up to check out my driveway to be sure there's no flood damage.

I doubt we're neighbors, but we do share that attitude about our land. i don't mind if they have the courtesy to ask first, but assuming it's okay because there are trees everywhere and nobody will care, just irks me. I think it's an Appalachian thing.
