(A different thread, because those who served and gave all deserve better than a thread started by right-fringe garbage RG.)

This is a solemn day where I live - how about for you?

Veterans Day is for those who served and serve. Memorial Day is for those who fell in service to their country giving their lives in doing so. We remember those departed who have left behind people who grieve their loss.

It should be, but it isn't--mainly because many don't seem to get what JaFo posted. Memorial Day is for those who died in service, not for those who got home. They have a different day to be honored on.

As far as the thread Rightguard posted on this, he has besmirched himself far too much to be viewed with anything but suspicion on what he posts about anything at all.

Agreed.

Played Taps twice today for Taps across America and at sunset
Easy… yet hard piece to play

Thank you for doing so. I heard it played at Arlington at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It is hard to hear it there, of all places.

I’m late to this particular thread but offer my solemn reverence to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
