So I go to add to a story that I have not looked at in a while and I find that it is gone. It has been chyooed into outerspace. I have noticed several errors in the chyoo database, options that don't lead to the right place, a story that I added that shows me as writer not editor, yet it lets me approve threads, and now my story is gone. The story goes to a blank page with a bunch of mixed up threads.

I don't even remember who wrote threads for it, it anyone else is missing stuff speak up here.

Swell!

Let's hope this is not a taste of worse yet to come. Hope it wasn't a great loss to you. I remember when I lost a story, and then did get it back a few days later, minus a number of threads from myself and a few others.

On another note, I'm afraid I'm suffering from Chyoo burn out at the moment. I just can't motivate myself to do any writing currently. I've finished about three quarters of a thread for one of my stories but didn't finish it a few days ago.

I've tried as an author to make my threads intriging enough that somebody would hopefully want to take the story someplace from the end of them, continuing the action. While I wrote quite a few threads last month, I didn't elicite much interest. Hopefully I'll get back in the saddle soon. - Ciao

Ahh yes the dreaded chyoo burn out that many of us have gone through. Rest assure we know what you mean. I have felt this condition and do my best just to trickle threads allong as the fancy takes you. Try writting a new story for yourself perhaps or for a different story by someone else. Try a different catagory that you have never written for before. Or perhaps just take a small sabatical until you feel the urge once more. Not all of us have unlimited creative juices like Kendahl69696.

Any one else got some tips for Imhotep to get over chyoo burn out?

:rose: for Dacia's tips to Imhotep and the rest of us burnouts.

As an antidote to burnout, I keep hoping to start a discussion on possible ideas and directions for my threads/stories or other people's, but the invitations have seemed to vanish into the ether.

Let me phrase an invitation to discussion as a couple of direct questions.

If you're an author, these questions are for you.

I've started you off with my answers. (If you like, add a question or two and answer it).

Q: Author, what story (or storyline) of yours do you most hope will take off and grow? What themes, scenes, or other bits would you like to see worked in?

A: (Zingiber) My focus of interest shifts, but right now, story-wise it would be When The Cat's Away. I'd love to see Bernie (Naomi Bernstein) have some adventures. She's unsure whether she's really loveable and desirable, and could use the boost to her self-esteem. Her boyfriend Gary seems likely to shake her up because of his wandering eyes.

Q: Author, what makes you feel especially good about a thread or story you've written?

A: (Zingiber) When I see other people take off with my ideas and spin out fun scenes and variations, and develop the characters further.

Q: Author, what story (or storyline) of yours do you most hope will take off and grow? What themes, scenes, or other bits would you like to see worked in?

A: (Gystex) I've been a little disappointed in the lack of reaction to U.S.S. Ishtar, as I imagined that a Star Trek fic would be of some interest. android6666 has supplied me with some great submisions, but apart from his contributions there has been little interest generated (AaronWebster submitted one thread, and I thank him for it).

Q: Author, what makes you feel especially good about a thread or story you've written?

A: (Gystex) Positive feedback. I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for it. When someone tells me that I've written a good thread or story, I get excited about doing more.

Q: Author, what specific stories, other than your own, are currently arousing your interest?

A: (Gystex) 7 Little College Girls, by the aforementioned AaronWebster. It was instantly one of my favorites when I first came across it, and lately I've been having a great time dealing with the characters and their setting. Seven very different girls (except for the twins) all living together in one house, their lesbian urges ready to break loose on each other... powerful stuff, and it's the story I'd most like to see made into a porn movie. AaronWebster is also an excellent editor for whom to submit.

Thanks, Dacia, for the kind words. Lately, though, my 'juices' have been somewhat limited between undecorating for the holidays and a cold followed by a nasty case of tonsillitus that didn't leave me feeling too erotic. Better now, though, so I hope to get back in the swing of things, if I can get around the 'puter gremlins that have been plagueing me as well.

I heartily concur with gystex's comments pertaining to AaronWebster as well. Good luck continuing the "Pampered Pussies!"

Poor Ken. I hope your feeling better. Perhaps these will help....
