Oh yes it is indeed raining, pouring and pissing down. We've had 2.5 inches in the past two hours. It has been great, sitting out on the patio and watching/hearing the rain while feeling the air cool.

Then there was the fun and games. (You just knew there would be some didn't you?) I went out back to check the shed and see if the roof was leaking. It wasn't. As I was coming back from the shed I saw a 4x6 foot piece of plywood that had blown down from where I had leaned it against the trailer. I looked at the wood then looked around to see if anyone was watching. My friends across the street were on their patio and their kids were watching me walking around in the rain. I smiled to myself and thought what the hell.

The yard was flooded, a lot of standing water and the wood was floating on it. I took a nice short running start then jumped on the plywood. This caused the plywood to skim across the yard like a Boogey Board at the beach. (You have to be careful when you do this. You have to be behind the centerline of the wood otherwise the front tips down and digs in.) I made it almost all the way across the yard before the plywood stopped. That was fine, I could go back the other way now. This time when I jumped on the wood I skimmed all the way across the yard before stopping. (About 40 feet.)

The next thing I know I hear the bang of a screen door closing and here come the kids followed by their parents. The kids wanted to try it. I showed them how to do it and off they went while their parents watched from under a couple of large umbrellas. The kids and I were soaked but we had a blast.

What's weird is that we're having a thunderstorm here. It ain't good for much, all noise and little water, but whaddya expect from May in SoCal?

It's raining here too! Yippee! :D

Had a thunderboomer pass thru 'bout 1/2 hr ago and a gentle rain's still falling.

Man o man do we need it.

Your stories always brighten my day (or evening) cat.;)

Come on down, I'll find something to do.:D

Our kids would go crazy - what fun!

We could grill together, you and hubby drink beer and talk about guy things, your lovely wife and I could watch the crazy antics of the kids and discuss the crazy antics of our husbands.

It would be keen.

:)

Shit, I would be out playing with the kids in the rain. Then I would fire up the grill.

The rain ended here about an hour ago and I'm disapointed. I wouldn't have minded in the least if it had kept raining all night.

I wanna know who the wiseacre was who shipped the tornados and hail to California! We sue people for things like that around here. . . . Actually, we sue people for any reason or for no reason at all around here but that's entirely besides the point!

Funny... I love the rain... love to have it rain... like the fact that when it rains, I don't need to water my flowers.

But... when it rains too much, the rivers around here flood (you could spit in them and they'd be above flood stage) and the path I like to ride goes under water... that's not cool.
