Marvin Hamlisch has died at the age of 68. Marvin was the composer of so many of my personal favorite movie scores.

He was one of the greats who worked with other greats. Judy Garland and her daughter Liza, Barbra Streisand to just mention a few. He teamed up with the great lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman to write "The Way We Were" and he scored the movie. "The Sting" was another of his many special creations.

Of course, the type of song he wrote isn't as popular with the younger crowd, but that's their loss. He wrote songs that had feeling and the melody mixed with the lyrics to actually move you. It was almost as good as sex.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Hamlisch.

His talents made a *lot* of movies much more enjoyable than they would have otherwise been.
