It's a good thing...I think

My sons ( aged 10 and 8) went to play at a friend's house this afternoon. The friend has a pool. When I picked them up the friend's dad told me of something that gave him a chuckle.
In the pool was a large inflatable killer whale, all three boys were jostling for supremacy of it.
One of my boys (not sure which, it could've been either one) was heard to say "well, then - I'm a Japanese whaler".

I guess it's good that their aware of current affairs...

I thought the same thing- at least he knew what the issue was.
