I toured it when it was still in Long Beach. I need to remind myself to watch a video of when they moved it to Oregon by ship.

Any historian will tell you that politics is not more contentious now than previously. I think it has always been a blood sport.

This is a good thing to keep in mind to put things in perspective. You can look up the things that were said about the candidates when Adams and Jefferson ran against each. If I recall his opponents said if Jefferson was elected that murder rape and incest would be taught in the schools (maybe he was a Lit reader).

There is more partisan polarization now than 30 years ago. There's no such thing as conservative Democrats or liberal Republicans anymore. The most liberal Republican in the Senate is more conservative than the most conservative Democrat, and that's different from how it was before.
