I think it is all in the way you portray yourself and deliver your message in a personal. I usually write ours and we have had a huge number of responses from male subs during the time we advertised and none were interested in online as I made it clear that was not an option. You don't have to be rude or obnoxious, but you do have to be able to get them to realise you know what you want and are not about to settle for what they want you to want.
