It must be a slow news day...

Seriously, I noticed a few months back that CNN seemed to have taken a sudden editorial shift. They used to report some actual news with a garnish of fluff; lately it's nearly all scandal, celebrities, and bizarro factoids. I gave up and switched to the BBC some weeks ago.

Tabloid stuff makes more money. It's easier to find, more people read it and that means more advertisers.

The side effect of an ignorant electorate can't be overlooked either.

That's funny. My CNN headlines on my google page are:

Israel authorizes 'severe' response - Israel's invasion of Lebanon
Dozens of potential failures found - The Big Dig in Boston that just had a collapse
Police hunt two potential serial killers - The serial sniper and the serial rapist/murderer both in Phoenix.

A guy I know has a very old National Enquirer front page. The headline is "I Cut Out Her Heart And Stomped On It!" Yaknow, you just don't hadly get them kinda' headlines no more.

No more Rooms - that's my Situation.

I had to quit watching CNN. I was getting to frustrated. The garbage that passes for news on there was rotting my brain. Thankfully, I was able to remember where the off switch was just in time. Hopefully I have sustained no permanent brain damage. Oh yeah...update at 11:00 PM.

As most Americans now get there daily news from Entertainment Tonight I guess CNN has to shift it news reports to compete.
