After trying all day to record some music - dealing with numerous interuptions - a 3 hour power outage - chores and errands - cleaning and waxing my car - and more - I finally sit down at fucking 11pm (even though I should just go to bed) - determined to at least do SOMETHING! So... what do I do?

I SPILL SODA ALL OVER MY FUCKING KEYBOARD!!!

(I'm now typing this on my laptop.)

What do you think? Not my day? Just give up and try again another day?

*sigh*

(And yes this is fucking whining... so what?)

It's not over till its over, Dillinger.

At what time should the wenches arrive with the cigars and vsop cognac? ;)

Poor baby, tell you what, you can come over and use my keyboard.

New keyboards aren't that expensive.

Now, show us some new pics and guaranteed your day will get better. :D

Edited to add: WOW!!!!! Forget the keyboard, i'll buy you a new one in gratitude for the new av. :p

My AV is new.

I could use a drink, a cigar and a whole bushel of wenches...

I'm tired.

Yikes!

I could say something cheesy like *It could be worse* ..

Instead .. I'm sorry, that really sucks, and not in the good way. Time for sure-fire relaxation for you, it sounds.:rose:

I turned off the computer last night... put the keyboard on its side - and let it dry overnight.

Turned it on this morning - no luck, not working.

I've now got the keyboard in hundreds of pieces scattered over my desk. Every key has been removed... all the screws, circuit boards, etc etc...

I'm now individually cleaning and drying each piece...

*sigh*

You could have just soaked it in hot soapy water for a few minutes and turned it upsidedown to dri. You can do that with any closed circutry item.

Dill weed, when you are finished... jump onto AIM and give me a hand if you can.

Oh... I didn't know that... *sigh* That would have taken a lot less time.

Well - I hope what I'm doing works. I'm in the process of putting it all back together - unfortunately I've forgotten where some of the keys go! *lol*

I wouldn't have bother if it was a cheap keyboard - but this is Microsoft Natural Keyboard...

I'm on AIM - but you don't seem to be?

Cheer Up Dilly!

Good Luck with your Keyboard.....here you can have mine....I have gotten used to my laptop. I got the keyboard to ease some of the stress on my wrist..but I found a different way to help that....anyway, feel free to pick it up sometime! :)

OK - this more than sucks. I've now spent 3 or 4 hours taking my keyboard apart, cleaning it, and putting it back together and it still doesn't work... what a waste of time.

Try the soaking thing. Still might work and it won't take long. But when I say let it dry, that means COMPLETELY and that takes a few days. Otherwise you could fry your system.

that make an expensive new keyboard ;)

dont know if you are like me... taking things apart and putting them back together help me relax, but when it still broken afterward, then yes, that sucks...

I will try it - maybe it can be fixed/salvaged... meanwhile I picked up my other keyboard from my office (Logitech Internet Keyboard) and its working just fine. Hopefully the Microsoft keyboard will come to its senses in a couple of days.

Thanks... *smile*

Well - in a way it was sort of rewarding - to find I could do it - and put it back together - getting the keys back in the right spots turned out to be the hardest part! *lol*
