It doesn't make sense, does it?

It doesn't make sense that at THIS stage of American history, our society should be politically divided to the point of civil war. What issues divide us, now, that are nearly as important or urgent as those that gave rise to demonstrations and riots in the 1960s and '70s? Yet we are more politically polarized now than at any time since the Vietnam War ended.

Why?!

We're looking for some factor that changed after the Cold War ended . . . I'm thinking it has somethng to do with globalization. That would explain why similar polarization is happening in Europe.

Sufficient comfort to take everything for granted?

When you have no problems, the smallest irk becomes a major issue.

None of us are hungry enough any more.

It might also have something to do with the Information Age.

Remember, we are looking for factors that have CHANGED since 1991.

And I hate to admit it, but it might have SOMETHING to do with reports America will no longer have a white majority by 2050.

It occurs to me that it might be a GENERATIONAL thing. Millennials and Zoomers are less racist, less sexist, less xenophobic, and less RELIGIOUS than any elder American generations.

In some quarters. that undeniable fact might inspire a sense of panic. Desperation.

What is so important about THIS stage of history? Except that we're living it.

Also, you still talk to much. What is your stance on banned accounts returning?

Trump has divided your country more than any modern politician.

Everything that comes out of his fat pig face is divisive.

I hope he isn't shot in the face, that's not the way to solve problems.

But he could not have gone so far with that if the nation were not ready for it.
