He probably doesn't want to go there. Job creation numbers alone in the 4th quarter of
2008 was far in the negatives from February through December. Compared to the positive growth during the last quarter (or whole year) of 2014.

The unemployment rate had just began it's dive off a cliff in late 2008 moving from 4.9% in February to 7.3% in December 2008. it peaked in 2010 at 10% and has dropped steadily since, despite the objections of the "right". Slow and steady wins the race.
