:)I was just taking an account of all of the blessings in my life and was humbled!! Life really is great :) All of the wonderful friends I have, all of the expressions of kindness and love that I get daily, and all of the great gifts given to me by God and others. Blessed I most certainly am!!! Life is great!!:) I bet yours is too!!! Pray God always grant me the grace to be always thankful and humble. And honest and steadfastly confident.:) Life is great and I love it!!!

Other Thoughts:

I am blessed with being here at Lit and making new friends here.
I thank you all for putting up with me and my opinions LOL!!

I am blessed by Paco, George and McBarker- my dogs whom I adore. They are all inside today as it is raining!!! That reminds me too, I am blessed by this rain (we all are) as there has been a long drought here in South Carolina!!:)

My greatest blessing of all, my son who just is so smart and well mannered. He is a real little gentleman. Heaven surely lost an angel when he was given to me!!!:)

NO STRIKE!!!

There will be no baseball strike!! A deal has been reached!! One more thing to be thankful for :)

I have such an angel too. He is the one thing that makes my life sweet every day. Even when he's the chick magnet he can't help being, I have to love him.

Hope you have a wonderful day Lord Lucan.

Thank you very much....and dittos!!!:)

My little angel is just turned 12 and I think he is just now taking notice of the opposite sex!!! OMG!! Where does the time go?? Next thing I know he'll be wanting my car and money to take out a babe!! It seems like yesterday when he was just an infant. Thanks for your reply:)

Sir Didymous, I have a quest for you

You have to seek a picture of yoursefl for an avatar, and maybe tweet will chip in with a title.

And we'd also like to hear about how cool David Bowie is.

To help you on your quest, you appeared in the movie, Labyrinth.

Ha mine is two months away from 12 but he tells me he'll really be a teenager cause the first year doesn't count right? Figure that logic. The babes have been around for awhile now and I'm just not ready for that first kiss. I know its not far away... I won't give in to letting them play spin the bottle... no matter how hard they beg or plead with those puppydog eyes...uh uh.

Time flies so fast we barely notice it. Except for when I look in the mirror each morning and wonder who that is staring back at me. Then I quickly realize where its gone. But I treasure every grey hair, laugh line and age spot. They were all well earned.

Well, I like David Bowie immensely and I suspect he is cool:)

I like my avatar LOL.....But I do change it often, so keep looking. You never know!!!:)

As I am Lord Lucan and Sir Didymous, I seem to have more titles than the Duke of Northumberland!! I musn't be too ostentatious. I would become tiresome, and that is never good.

Have you had the "sex talk" yet?? Margo, my ex-wife, thinks we should wait...however, I think it is overdue. Of course, kids these days know so much....He may know more than I do!!

Well yes we have had the talk. He came home I think it was in grade one, telling me so and so wanted to have sex with him. His comment was "Isn't that silly mom?" Of course then he didn't know what she was talking about.

The "cooties" thing worked until he was 10. That was the year the babes showed up in bikinis for his birthday party. I guess he saw they really didn't have cooties.

They had a sex ed film in grade four and like every boy in his class had to bring home the permission paper to be signed. The homework book was the first thing opened that night. I wanted to go watch the movie too but parents weren't allowed!!!

The funniest comment was from a friend of his who went home that night after watching the movie telling his mom that babies are made from a man putting his penis into the woman's vagina. He asked her "You and dad don't do that do you?" in a digusted tone of voice. I don't know how she kept a straight face when she replied, "No, of course not!"

But the smiles and giggles of these days make the hard times fun. There will be a day when they won't want to share with us or will be embarrassed to have us around. I'm just hoping that isn't for a very long time.

That is just too funny!!! I can tell you, I would have just rolled over with laughter!!! See, LIFE IS GREAT!!!

I am sure that they have had similar films too at school...still I want to do the talk. I may just bring it up this weekend!! Thanks, you really made my day:)

Life never fails to amaze me! Even when things are just so bogged down, low and desperate, a moment can come along that just brightens up your life, sometimes changing your path as well.

I am thankful and try to appreciate every single day, and when things are bad, I still can keep looking for even some "little things" that can make me smile.:)

Thank you, LordLucan, for this thread!:rose:

Hard To Believe

That more people have not replied to a thread as positive and up beat as this. Isn't anyone blissfully happy?? Or sublimely grateful for our many blessings?? Or are we just saving our gratitude for November and the turkey??
Let's smile:)
Let's be happy:)

Well, be careful and wash it down with a cold beer :)

You are diabolicly clever in your niceness, Lord Lucan.

Life is wonderful. Particularly for those of us who won the lottery and were born into the First World. Which is just about everyone here. Good thread! :)

SHYYBABE: we had the talk today. It came about because we were looking for some reviews for plays for a project Alec was working on and they were all laced with sexual references. So, I broached the sex topic. Damn!! He knew it all. When we looked at a review of an off-Broadway play on the life of Rock Hudson, I even asked him if he knew what homosexuality was( for obvious reasons). He had learned all about that (from somewhere) as well. These kids are just too well informed. He was not even the least bit uncomfortable about the topics. Dad was, but he was fine LOL!!!

Diabolicly clever!! I love that!!
Why is it we hear so much of the Third World and even the First World but never of the Second World?? And where are all these worlds??
Thanks for your very kind reply.:)

Good going. I don't think there is much you can find these days that isn't laced with sexual references. And believe me they pick up on them no fear of that. Just hover in the background as they watch music videos some afternoon. The comments flow very freely.

I'm glad Dad survived. Next big step, buying his first condoms.
