If advertising another adult bulletin board in your sigline, with the added implication that it's a fun place to be (the insiuation being it's better than Lit) is spam, then yes, I'd have to say it is.

So, if this were a poll, I'd vote yes.

your point being? I am advertising for another board that sports a much smaller community, and much happier people. I have fun there, and wished to share the place. It's not like AA is a secret around here, as most everyone ON aa got thier start here, and still frequent both boards. If it bothers you that much, why not be registered, and tell me to my face? Until then, sit back down, hide your real name, and realize I don't give a flying fuck what 90% of the people here think about me anymore. I stopped doing that when so many people here went out of their way to prove just how uncaring and heartless they can really be. Why should I try to act above them when that is the preferred attitude here?

Oh, spam, that would be sending people to sites they don't wish to be at. Is that anything like the hundreds of popups that now accompany lit to generate money for them? Yeah, that's spam. My pop up killer is on overload as we speak.


KM, I go to both boards. I spend time on both boards. I think both are fun places to be. I am not insinuating that aa is any better then lit. I think alot of the people who post there have much better manners then alot who post here, however. If you take a offence, then I am sorry, but that is how I feel, and I do have freedom of speech. If Laurel has a problem with my sig line, she can feel free to tell me. In the mean time, I will leave it as is.


And if mine is spam, what about Xander's? His does the same. As does one others. All three sig lines for 3 different adult themed boards.


So, again, disagree with my sig line all you want, but I am not changing it over the oppinion of an unregistered ball-less prick, and two people who seem to have it out for me. The others who responded had no problem with it, and neither do I. Laurel, do you? If so, just tell me, and I will change it. I eagerlly await her responce, since her and Manu are the only two whose oppinion matters on this account.

Spam is advertising that hasn't been approved of by site owners or email box owners. You have spam whether you want it to be or not. Since you didn't say so, I'm inclined to believe that you don't spam lit over at AA. I don't go there so I don't really care.

Get your panties in a twist if you want to, but don't try to pass spam off as something it's not. Spam is unsanctioned advertising, period. Site owners have an extremely good reason for not permitting spam and it has nothing to do with competition or not supporting friends. From what I understand Laurel and Ambro are on really good terms.

See, Laurel sell advertising space here. Sites pay Laurel to advertise links to their sites in places where they'll get thousands of hits and thousands of opportunities to sell their site. What do you think those paying advertisers are going to think if they discover that she allows advertising for free? Laurel may have contractual obligations with them not to allow it.

It's got nothing to do with what sites are fun or friendly or wonderful. It's got nothing to do with you personally. It's got everything to do with the people who pay the overhead on this site.

Now, whether I or anyone else here thinks you're spamming is irrelevant, the only person's opinion who matters in this is Laurel's. Rather than wait for Laurel to tell you no, try asking her what she thinks in a PM or email. She's a fair and reasonable woman and she'll tell you. That would be the honorable thing to do rather than just get your nose out of joint because someone called you on something that you thought was a nice and harmless thing to do for a friend.

Isn't the www link supposed to be for links to other sites you support? I've clicked on those links to learn what sites Litizens have created or enjoy. I don't have sig lines turned on, so I didn't know anyone provided links there as well. Honestly, I think it's a tad ungracious to promote other sites in the signature line as well.

I have just recently started getting em. Every single time I hit refreseh, load, reply, or anything else, I get spammed with advertising to go see LesboExpress, BigBoobs, YoungSchoolGirls4U, and countless other ones. Since I have to add the pop up addy to my killer in order for it to work, I have to imagine there is a great deal of them here now, because No matter how many I add, I still have to exclude about 10 out 15 that come up.



Now, as to advertising... I would suggest if they don't want it, that everyone stops using ANY sort of a URL in any post, in thier profiles for websites, and in sig lines. Every time a URL is posted to ANY thread, it is advertising another website, is it not?

But hey, to appease, I did alter my sig line slightly, and those who wish to free thier minds a bit are welcome to go to any of the freedom of speech links both I and Laurel have provided for the well being of the community.
