Brad Miller finished his shower after an intense workout at the gym. At the front desk he picked up a brochure highlighting an all inclusive cruise to some of the islands in the Caribbean Sea. Leafing through the literature, he was struck by the information that seemed to tell him, this was paradise. The information in the brochure indicated how much fun could be had on the two week cruise.
On the drive home he kept thinking about how he and Haylee talked about getting away for a holiday. He hoped that when Haylee came home from running they could talk about taking the two week cruise. In the past they had talked about needing a vacation away from the everyday grind of the business world.
Brad sat by the pool sipping a bourbon as he waited for Haylee to come home. He reread the information in the brochure and the pictures were absolutely fabulous. They showed blue water and pure white sandy beaches with people enjoying the surf. Other photos showed guests lounging in chairs with their favoite drink in their hands and the brochure made it sound so exciting to get away to a piece of paradise. And to top it off, it was an adults only cruise which meant no teenagers and younger kids screaming around the pool on the ship.
Brad took a few minutes to think about his company, Computer Analyics, LLD. He owned it with two other men and one woman. They had started the company after college, offering services on fixing computer issues for small companies and soon expanded to work for large corporations. The company had grown into a relatively prosperous venture but it took a lot of sweat equity to make it successful. Now after years of hard work, he and his partners knew it was time to take a bit of time to themselves and their spouses.
He heard Haylee open the front door and thought about their marriage. It was a good marriage and the sex was good. He smiled thinking how they had been married for five years after a whirlwind courtship. They met when her company hired his company to straighten out a computer virus affecting everyone in the office. The work required a lot of time getting the right programming in place and they ended up working long hours together. One night he worked up the courage to ask her out to dinner and she accepted. They found they had a lot in common and soon were a regular couple.
They spent the better part of a year and were inseparable. Brad knew she was the one for him and asked for her hand in marriage and she accepted. In the years that followed, they had an open dialogue with each other, discussing things as a team. The sex was good and sometimes they joked about ex-girlfriends and boyfriends and what they did together. A few times when they were out and had a bit too much to drink, they would tease each other about picking up some gal or guy in the bar, but that is as far as it went. He was satisfied and happy with Haylee and knew they needed some time together.
When Haylee walked onto the patio deck, Brad smiled seeing that she had just taken a shower after her run. "I'm glad you're home. I have something to show you." He saw that familiar twinkle in her eyes as she walked toward him. He never tired watching her athletic form walk suggestively toward him and after a sweet kiss, he pulled her onto his lap.
"After my workout today, I picked up this brochure." Handing it to her, he watched as she began to look at it. On the cover was a picture of the cruise ship and below it a listing of the island port of calls.
St. John's - Antigua ....... St. Croix - Virgin Islands ...... Philipsburg - St. Maarten ...... Oranjestad – Aruba
As Haylee browsed through the brochure, Brad commented. "What do you think honey? Do you need a nice two week vacation of fun and sand?"
