In the last few months I've been moved to pay attention to members whose behavior seems strange to me. There seem too be more suspicious people than I'd noticed in my 4 + years in the forums, but it may just be that I've noticed patterns I never paid attention to before. Perhaps these are well recognized patterns of people who dip in, try the same post everywhere, and move out.

I'll use this thread to post my questions.

SmileIsReal joined on January 17, and on our about Feb 15 posted 18 identical messages in different forums. Today, Feb 18, SmileIsReal had disappeared, but SmileIsReal1099 joined yesterday (2/15/26) and has posted the same message as SmileIsReal 9 times.

Is this recognizable behavior that I haven't noticed before? Are the admins removing people who post the same message over and over? Is there reason to think this is a bot, not a person?

That person was spamming all the forums offering "BDSM mommy dom training" and putting their social media contact info in the post

Well, if by "alt" you mean "bot," that was certainly a possibility in my mind.
It can be strange,it can be spam, it can be an alt without also being a bot.

The repetitiveness does seem bottish, but re-using the same handle doesn’t. A bot farm would more likely generate rando names which don’t seem related even though the spam content is the same.

I mean alt as in a real person already existing in this forum creating another handle for a variety of sketchy reasons. Big time hobby over in the General Board and Political Boards that's not that common here, but there's been some over the years and I know we have one now. Pay attention to join dates, patterns of speech and who they align themselves with and who they don't like. You can see it.

An alt and a bot are two different things. The former is an existing account holder choosing to set up additional accounts for whatever reason, usually to prevent cross-category hostility jumping from one account to the other.

A bot is an automated mechanism spamming through threads. Lit allows alts, but shuts down spam-bots.

The examples you found were someone using Lit to promote themselves, which is contrary to Lit policy - and the reason the accounts were shut down.
