I've been semi blocked - starting stories then getting so bored by them I stop half way through. I have thought of starting a Nude Day story to at least be writing.

I had a suggestion that I continue my " Good Sisters" series, but I kind of had thought that:
a) it's reached a nice end, with no natural lead to the next chapter
or
b) its already too convulted with too many characters.

thoughts?

here's the last chapter: Under the Fucking Mistletoe

for those who like to read them all in order:

Hard to Write

Rub Dub Tub

Fantasies can Cum True

thanks for any advice.

When completely blocked, it is always fun to sit and write a massacre story, the cast of your series has a wild killing spree, boffs the neighbours, stuffs the garden vegetables and generally cuts up in every way they normally would not.

If this does not break the block and provide new material, you have at least a wonderful finale and a chance to try something new.

If the series does not excite you as the writer, and the story is essentially over - perhaps it is time to set it aside.

I like the characters, but I thought I was done with the plot, until I got the feedback.

Its not this series that's blocking me. I don't know why, but every start seems to dead end- no zing, no zip...

I have about 7 of those sitting in the neverland of stories on my machine - 2 chapters, a preface, a page of character notes and then the idea just fails.

I consider it normal, I'm in no rush to pollute Lit with my writing, and my editor is too busy for me to bother her with stories needing creative spirit.

Let is sit. The spark will return.

aw, but the conundrum is I have the urge to write...if for no other reason than my story total sits at 71 and I am superstitious about prime numbers ( silly, I know)

I did like your slasher idea. It made me laff. Just not for the Good sisters.

Thanks for the input.

Rats. A good sister comedy slasher short might be funny.

My suicidal detective story is available if you want it... I can't get past his damn depression and move out of the apartment to screw the hot client.

lol....thanks, but the stop sign in my last dead end was the wallowing in self pity of the protagonist. So I can get THERE all by myself.

maybe I just need to get laid this century.

When people grow to like characters, they seem to believe that a sequel will naturally be just as good. If you feel you've ended your story and have no real inspiration for the second, why write something that's just going to be forced and half-assed? Those same people who wanted it will just be disappointed.

If the inspiration strikes you, by all means write it. But if not, I'd suggest you look to writing out a new idea. Yes, you should appreciate your fans, but that doesn't mean writing whatever they want. It means thanking them when they like something you've written and take the time to give you compliments/constructive criticism.

My two cents, anyway.

I can never write funny when I try - it only happens by accident.

But I did think up as non funny sister slasher story idea, not a sequel to the series. Do you think Lit would acept a blood and gore non horror story?

I think Lit will accept nearly anything, although without some kind of sex, the readers may not accept it and vote it into oblivion.

If you write the story, I'll at least read it.

I'll second that sound advice, Dev.

I'll see if it works. My version would have sex.

I seem unable any m,ore to just right quick dirty sex stories. I'm at 1500 words and climbing, still in the first scene....

4300 words later, still beating it .......out...yeah...out

believe it or not, I'm still writing it! Got diverted to my Nude Day Story, now returning to the sister slasher story.

11,000 words later, the sister slasher story is off to editing....

the story, which ended up 4 Lit pages, so is anything but the short sister slasher story kbate suggested, is finally submitted. stay tuned.

The link is in my signature. Please be honest. Anything but short, but I had visions of Uma in Kill Bill going, so you know I liked it....

hmmm...interest comments on the story itself, given that the ending was the whole point.

I'm happy I helped push some limits here, but did we expect 3.42 as a score?

I thought the "is that machete loaded?" description and "be careful what you wish for" as an opening line would clue people in that this was not the average stroker. Plus I thought most readers would never last 4 pages.

What do I know?

Wow!

I guess when you play out a series - you play it out. :emoticon:

The story was hot and the ending did exactly what you needed. I'm not surprised the fans are a bit angry, but you warned them in the title line and in your sigline that it was not going to be ending in a loving kiss.

well, these were new characters, so the Good Sisters all live to love another day.....thanks again for the inspiration. I enjoyed writing it, and shaking Lit up.

Sir Hugs, you seem so good at doing sequels and series. I've been asked to do continuing stories or sequels to a couple of my stories, but tho Ive been doing pretty good on coming up with a story, I don't understand how to began a sequel. Can you give me a couple of pointers?
