Is this fair?

Okay.
3 weeks ago I asked for this Friday off, and I was given it, I baught my tickts to see my love this weekend.
then I realised I'd need to leave a tad early.

so I asked can I have an hour off Thursday if I worked overtime I was told yes.

okay so now Monday the Bosses call a meeting There isn't a comapany picknick. the whole company is going to Ceter Point.

we are going Thursday.
If you go you get a full days pay and free entry to the park and a paid ride.
sounds great. "anyone who can't make it?"
I say yes me, cause I won't make my flight if I go.
Okay so I don't have to go. so I'll go to work that day and get paid... but I'll be theonly one working int he office area
my work is two areas with seperat locks, office and plant.

a meeting was called today.
one of the owners sons that works in the plant was cousing a fuss, he dosn't want to go to ceder point but also does not want to work that day. BUT he wans't the full 8 hours pay.
his dad said okay.

the bosses told the owner Fuck no that's not fair to the other workers. and I agree that's why I was going to be going in. so they told everyone work or go on the trip or no pay.
it was totaly understood.

However at the end of work today I ased the bosses how I'm supose to get in work sicne noone will be in the office?
they tell me to come in 2 hours early when the Buss is leaveing and they will unluck the door.... Well I odn't drive and the busses don't run there at that time. So i can't get there that early.
well Instead of giveing me a set of keys.... "well Just take the day off then"
so the 5 guys in the shop that arn't going have a way in to work and get paid......

me however. Because the idiots give us 2 days notice of the Trip and Cause I can't go...... I don't get my fucking money
so I booked one day off this week. and loose out on 3 days of pay why?

cause I didn't work a full week the week before the Monday holiday.

do I don't get paied for Thursday Friday or Monday.

Does this seem fair to anyone?
$400 All because I Can't go on a day trip with my co-workers?

This is kind of a silly question..

but is the park close enough (or can you have someone pick you up? Catch a bus?) that you can go to the park.. play for awhile... then leave early enough to catch your plane?

where is Ceder Point? Ohio i think?

well whatever it is it's a 4 hour ride..... they are leaveing before 7 am to get there at just after 10.

all 4 of my bosses tryed to help me figure a way to go cause I'm the new guy and they really want me to get more envolved with the pople I work with.

well all there Ideas weren't helpfull...
one Sugested Jess drive 700 miles (6-7 hour drive) to meet me at the park and share the day there.....
the rest were just plain stupid.

I really don't care about missing ceder point though....

I don't go on rides anyways.... my body can't handel it.

what I think sucks is..... why can't they just give me a copy of the key? eveyone else has it this way..... I get paide for the half day Thurseday and for the Monday holiday.

You're right Fly...that does suck. Why don't you just ASK your bosses that very question??

If everyone else has a key then you should too....a very simple solution, I'd think.

Good luck and if it doesn't work out, just think of seeing Jess and the fun you two will have together.

This doesn't seem fair to me at all, especially the loss of pay on Monday, too.
