I am writing a continuing series of stories like a soap opera. Lit is posting them helter skelter. Is there anyway to get them post in sequence.

Give them titles to put them in order. Either chapter titles or titles that alphabetically would put them in order on your list. I did the latter with a five-story Christmas series, starting the title off with "Second" and then just making sure that the rest ran in the order I wanted alphabetically.

Make sure the title of every story submission is exactly the same and then add Chapter 1, 2, 3, etc.

The story mod will post them in order. If chapter 2 is returned for any reason, they will hold chapter 3 until you resubmit the corrected version.

Gee I really want to thank you for that advice. It never occurred to me to edit it. wow... Now I remember why I stop writing here before....

Sorry if that post was a bit blunt. I was interrupted by a squalling grandson needing a nappy change before I could complete the answer.

It isn't quite that simple.

The normal way to edit is to put in the exact original title followed by the word EDIT and then follow with the edited text. But if you are editing the title, then you might be able to do it by the edit function and a note in the NOTES box to say "Please replace the original title by....".

The other way, which is easier, is to submit the story as if it was new, with the new title, and when it is posted, delete the old story. Unfortunately that would lose any views, votes and comments on the original story.

If you have real difficulty, a PM to Laurel usually solves the problem.

Now for my next stupid question how do you delete the posted story. I think I'm going to start over and just give them numbers. that would solve all the problems it seems. Sorry if I sounded rude.

The procedure is the same for almost everything. To delete a story, submit the exact title of the original, with DELETE added to the title box. Leave the submission window empty. Put a polite request in the comments window.
