Is there a shortage of stories in the Incest/Taboo category?

I ask because I've just had a second story shifted into IT when the incest element in it is a minor one and far outweighed by other types of sex. That causes a problem with IT fans who think they've been cheated when they discover it's mostly about group sex and swapping. Or do you only have to hint at incest for a story to be put there?

In your case, she has applied the "Rule of Least Squick" -- Incest, Gay Male, some Fetishes, and a few other elements are objectionable to enough readers that including them in your story will get it moved. It is possible that if your story was originally posted in one category and then moved to another that somebody reported it as being in the "wrong category" because they were "squicked" by encountering something they don't like.

I threw in a few other areas of interest, including a couple of possible squicky bits just to confuse her – including female genital cosmetic surgery (no, not FGM) – but, damn it, I forgot Gay Male. I did try crucifixion in another story but that made Group Sex with no problem, so the squick list must be quite limited, even if the priorities are a bit bizarre. How does she cope with incest between two brothers?

No, I happened to refresh my Control Panel literally just after it was published. A few seconds before it wasn't there – refresh – and there it was, with about three views. Even Laurel's not that fast.

I don't think the looking for a story reflects a shortage as much as how heavily read the category is and how few people realize there's not only a fav feature on lit, but for anonymous there is this clever 'bookmark' feature on the interwebz where you can save a link to something you like.
