Is there a list of GBLT friendly professionals?

Yes there is, but you have to be resourceful and use your brain power to find them.

For instance, if you are a gay male, call your local (anonymous) doctors referral line and ask for a doctor who accepts gay patients (some doctors in large cities specialize in the field, but don't advertise in the yelllow pages).

If you use your imagination you can find a referral for any type of person for any service.

Actually, the KAP list usually mentions that they are GLBT friendly too. It's a pretty safe bet that if someone is unfazed by whips and chains (so to speak) they won't have a problem with gay people.

I fail to understand how a GLBT electrician will wire my house better than a hetero one...

There's two answers to this:

1) People might want to use a gay-owned business to help them stay afloat. Same as supporting a woman-owned business or whatever.

2) the KAP list mostly contains counselors, doctors, therapists, etc. Those are people you want to understand your sexuality, not tell you that you're depressed because you're gay.
