Is there a holiday that really gets to you?

Common wisdom says that people get depressed during the holidays; suicide rates climb, exes get together out of loneliness, you name it. So, I'm wondering if there's a particular holiday that gets to you.

Maybe it's just me.

I fucking hate New Year's Eve.

I enjoy New Years Eve.

Then again, I enjoy every holiday - oddly, enough I can keep them in perspective. I think that helps.

Not a particular one... but I do hate the commercialism of christmas and easter.

There is only one holiday I like..... it's a bad reason to have a holiday really but its Anzac Day.

If you don't know what Anzac Day is about it's all about an amazing screw up in WWI. We celebrate on April 25th every year.

Yep, I always have tears at the parade and sink into my thoughts of those that gave or lost for us......

Usually I could give a flip about New Years, but I like it this year for some reason. Maybe I'm just in a good mood for no apparent reason. I dunno It won't last, I'm sure.

Labor Day bugs me because our area gets flooded with asshole tourists (as opposed to the very many kind and considerate tourists we get year-round) who poach the beaches, leave trash everywhere, and drive like morons.

This year, I fucking hated NYE because I had no one IRL to spend it with. Thanks to those who made sure I wasn't alone.

It's not that I don't like holidays, it's just that on most holidays people are sharing with those they love, including their families. I live far away from my family so being with them for all holidays is not an option for me.
