Is there a "Best" day of the week to submit?

Quick question for all ya'll out there.

Is there a "Best" day of the week to submit your story to Lit?

I mean if you submit on Thursday and it is approved Friday night then your first two days on the "New Stories" list are Saturday and Sunday. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Would it get more or fewer views? More votes? Higher votes? Does the day of the week affect those things?

Are weekdays better than weekends as far as views, feedback and voting goes?

Just wondering what ya'll thought!

Best day for submitting.....

I am new to all this so I can't understand the importance people seem to attach to votes and criticsism. All I want is to write something I am happy with and that is passably correct grammatically.
Perhaps, as time goes by, I will get more up tight about such things......but, do they REALLY matter?

If I were only writing for myself then I would feel as you do. Of course, since I'm a selfish lazy bastard, if I were only writing for myself then I wouldn't post the story to Lit either.

I get a rush out of knowing that my story was read. I get a special thrill when someone sends me positive feedback. And I like to think that my writing improves when someone sends me criticism.

Votes are an indication (perhaps a poor one but still an indication) of how good a job I did presenting my story. # of views is an indication of how many people read my story.

So the question stands;

Is there a "best" day of the week to submit a story so that you have a better chance of more people reading it? After all, you submit a story, it get's approved and it is on the new stories list. There it gets a lot of hits but as it moves down the new stories list the views taper off. Once you are off the new stories list, if your story didn't make it to the "Top Lists" then the views don't change much. I'm just wondering if more people visit the site on the weekends or the weekdays? Is Wednesday a "Hot" day for Literotica or is Monday the best?

I would really like to know what people think.

It's not clear to me that there is a best day to submit. After reading your question I look at some numbers of 'reads' for a couple of my stories, over the weekends. They seem to show a slight lessening on Saturday. I think things pick up Sunday evening. I have in the past noted some problems if a story in launched when Lit has problems, or over certain special holidays
(where people apparently leave town).

It's worth keeping in mind that the time span in the US alone is three hours (not Alaska). So it's still Friday night in Calif when its Saturday morning in NY.

How to use this info is another question, since the time it takes a story to appear after submission varies. Two days seems to be common.

So my tentative advice to you is that possibly it's disadvantageous to submit on Wed or Thurs-- which is likely going to appear Saturday.
And I'd not submit if Lit is having problems or just before a holiday weekend people are likely to be away.

If others have numbers, I'd like to hear them. These are limited data.

Holidays suck...

I know... I have a story that I submitted earlier this week and I have only 6 votes... but 2000 views. <shrugs>

I have a feeling its because of the holiday contest. Nope - I won't submit another story until the damn thing is over.

I've usually have submitted work over the weekend and
usually its been approved by at least Monday........I don't
think that there is a "good" day to submit one's writing.

My own story site...

has been active for over 4 yrs now. and I watched the hits counter closely, checking numbers, time of day, and which day of the week.

Now.... go figure this... consistently, over the years, the highest day for hits was Wednesday, and then Thursday. and the highest time, spread over all days, was late night, EST, and early am, EST.

One of the coolest things about some of the hit counters is that it would say the country the viewer came from. I saw a lot of little country names I'd never heard of, and people so far away it astounded me.

So, who knows.

Let's admit it, if we write we want people to read it and like it, and vote big for us. It's an ego trip, at least it is for me! Mine is about as big as anyone else's.

I write mostly to please myself, but like it when others appreciate my stories. I try to write as sexy as story as I can, and always check for errors, grammar, etc. I hate sloppy work.

I usually submit on Thursday to hit the weekend. I may be wrong, but a LOT of people are visiting the site then. I try to submit to hit the largest reading audience. Why put your light under a bushel?

I did send one in last night as there are a lot of people off over the holidays and I wanted to get this next chapter up and running.

As for votes - I have one story with about 32,000 reads and only 360 votes, that's only about 1% who read it vote for it.

Where can you find that counter? I have never seen it.

re: the counter I had

it was a counter used by Xoom, which was purchased by NBC, and totally screwed up, and now dropped completely. It was a good thing, screwed up by the conglomerates, once again.
