Is my IP blocked?

I used to be able to visit the main site (http://literotica.com), but I haven't been able to for a few weeks on my wifi connection. I am able to connect using my mobile data or Opera's built-in in vpn.

Any suggestions?

I believe I the webserver is also blocking my IP address

Hello,

I wanted to also say that I think that my IP address might be blocked by the webserver. If so, then I do not know what I would have done to trigger that action but I'd like to amend it however possible.
Also I would like to apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum for it. If there is a proper channel for it please let me know and I will use it.

Steps that I have taken are:
1 - tried accessing the literotica.com web portal via my home IP address: results in no response
2 - tried accessing via a phone IP address and a VPN tunnel from the home IP address: results in my being able to log in normally
3 - resolved the literotica.com site to the two NS IPs: 216.150.65.200 and 216.150.65.190
4 - tried accessing the forum.literotica.com portal via my home IP address: results in my being able to log in. I did notice that the IP address for the forum subdomain is 216.150.69.38
5 - traceroutes to forum.literotica.com completes while traceroutes to www.literotica.com fails after the ezzi.net service provider
6 - I believe I have waited a month in case there was a soft unlock feature
7 - vipcams.literotica.com still works but I feel that is hosted on a different provider

I can provide additional information if this would help. Thank you for any help.

Do you think it's possible that your wifi or internet provider is blocking Literotica.com? Not sure what network you are on, but we generally do not block IP addresses to the main Literotica website. There could be an issue somewhere in the network chain if the IP was banned by someone else (for example, a bandwidth provider) for some reason, but it doesn't sound likely if you were using it for normal browsing.

Thank you very much for your fast response. It is good to know that I at least didn't run afoul of some policy and at least I hope I am still in good standing as I have enjoyed the services here for many years.

It is possible. I am using GoogleFiber but I'm not sure they would block such a long standing website such as literotica.com either for me or at large. It would be odd if GoogleFiber was blocking the literotica.com domain and leave a special case open for the forum subdomain. But that might be because the forums are on different IP addresses.

I'll try and see if I can access the site from a different IP address on the same GoogleFiber regional area and I'll report back.

Not much of an update but at least I believe it has something to do with my home IP address:

I was able to access literotica.com without any issue from a different IP address in the same regional GoogleFiber network. So possible blocks would be coming from my router, My ISP, the ISP that Literotica is hosted on, or the webservers.

As you said, Literotica.com webservers do not really block anything so let's assume that is not an option. I also doubt that the ezzi ISP or even GoogleFiber ISP would block a single IP address. It is possible but I will assume they have not for now. That only leaves my router (as this issue exists from multiple devices from my home IP).

I also find it unlikely that I have specifically put in a block for literotica as I do not mess with my router at all but I'll dig into my router and see if here is an issue I am unaware of tonight.

A long overdue follow up.

I've tried everything I can think of to see why I cannot access literotica.com. If there is no possibility that my IP address is being blocked from the literotica webservers, is there possibly another hostname/ip address I could try that would be the same as access the website? I want to see if there is a block with my ISP that I can access around that and verify it is on my side.

Thank you for any help.

Also, looking through the threads it does look like there are a few people who are in the same boat. I don't know what our commonality is but maybe there is something there that might link us with the same issue.

1. go to google.com
2. search for literotica
3. click on the link.

I appreciate it but I've already check DNS caching and verifying that I'm using the right URL and IP address. This was one of the first of the basic steps I took and it did not resolve the issue.

Either you personally or your provider might have a porn filter turned on. There are many hotel business centers and cafes that block Literotica as a porn source.

Thanks for the response and I am certainly not trying to be difficult as I more than anyone would like to have this figured out. :) Let me add some more info more beyond the steps taken above in the thread:

I use just the basic Google Fiber network modem/router. I do not have Google WiFi (a different product) that allows for blacklisting and NAT routing. So if there is a black list occurring it is outside of my local control as there is no facility to do so on the moden/router. Google seem to give the same answer - if you want website blocking you have to use their additional WiFi devices.

I have successfully connected to www.literotica.com on Google Fiber outside of my own home IP address (neighbor's Wi-Fi) so at least if it is a block on Google's side it would be targeted to just my IP address. And of course other ISP's and VPN's allow for connecting.

Also, I'm able to resolve www.literotica.com to the 216.150.65.190 and 216.150.65.200 address both from Google's DNS resolver, directly from ns1/ns2.mylitdns.com, and other public DNS servers. Connecting to forum.literotica.com works (it's a different IP address).

If forum.literotica.com and www.literotica.com/forum go to the same webserver then I would expect that a traceroute would fail immediately on my side if my ISP was blocking it, but I get different results after it hits the ezzi.net host provider for the www subdomain. See the below truncated traceroutes.

I could be wrong and I'm willing to learn, but this seems to indicate that it is something going on at or beyond the hosting site level for literotica. Do you believe I have parsed that out correctly?

Popping in here a year later but I hate letting forum questions unanswered if someone goes to search for them later. I want to let you know that it was a local routing issue that I somehow couldn't find. Replaced local router and suddenly the problem went away. Thank you very much for the help and time.
