I'm currently working on a new arc to my "Kagaijin Chronicles" story collection, and in this one, I've written a short story that is three chapters long. The first two chapters deal with virtually no sex at all (the second has a scene that almost makes it to rape status, but it gets cut off before it can go anywhere). The third chapter is where the erotica really takes shape, and I just can't seem to make it play out naturally any other way.
What I'm wondering is, how on earth am I to handle this? The story is, by the nature of the characters involved, a non-human tale, so the category is already chosen. However, with the first two chapters being non-erotic, am I wasting my time by posting them here? I'm focusing more on plot and character development than masturbation fodder, and I'm not going to compromise my vision - however trite or ineffectual it may actually be - simply to pander to my surmised ideas of my readers' expectations.
At the same time, I don't want to feel like I've "cheated" those who take the time to read my story, expecting to find some provocative, steamy action right away, either. I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have any advice for me? I'll take anything you have to offer; don't be shy.
