In SA, around Xmas time shopping malls and department stores always seem to bring out and dust off their old Boney-M records. Fuck, I hate Boney-M.

Anyway, I was wondering whether in the US (or wherever you are) you poor souls also have the dreaded Boney-M inflicted on you. I can hear them now filtering through this mall (and I am in Singapore for God's sake). I feel ill.

(my sincere apologies if I am being insensitive to Boney-M fans - hey, are there any Boney-M fans/)

You gotta be kidding me CB. You dont know who Boney-M is??

Anyways, SB if you mean "Marys Boychild" and all that shit?? Well yes we do. But not as much as WHAM and "Last Christmas".....Good God I hate that song. And what I hate even more is the fact that if forced I could problay sing the enitre song without making one mistake. DANM!!

LOL @ Xander

LOL there's absolutely nothing artistic about "Last Christmas". It's a song whose sole purpose is to undermine the X-mas spirit and make Decemeber a pain in the ass for the general public.

Its a Conspiracy...I'm telling you. A Conspiracy!!!

well - YEAH! Although I admit I try to avoid shopping malls as good as I can that time of the year, so it doesn't bugg me that much.(and I admit - the first poster of a band I ever had decorating my girlie room walls was Boney M, I think it was the Nightflight to Venus RECORD - mind you, we are talking vinyl here *winks* And I still think there is worse out there than Boney M - LOT WORSE....)

In regards to Xander's comment, I have to add that I am quite annoyed by the "Song for Africa" / "Song for the Children" songs that are now popping out of the ground again. Don't get me wrong - I support the idea of helping, charity and all but ... those mixes usually are made quickly (Hey - you are supposed to do good stuff by giving your money, the artists don't want to profile themselves with it), the words are usually made with a "Rhyme - I'll force you to rhyme - and if you don't make sense not to worry as long as people can hum along and it is mushy" menatlity. And you have those everywhere, on each mall, on TV, even the tiniest local radio station does 'em - and they seem to play them 24/7 - all under the cover of charity.

So I rather make some contribution to STOP playing them .. damn , now I am stuck with "Do they know it's Christmas time?" ohhh nooo ... now look what you have done to me ....and it not even lunch time yet

*wandering out of thread to get some asprin and a cup of mulled wine to wash down the sweet sticky sounds*

"last christmas I gave you my heart .. but the very next day ... you gave it away ... this year, to save me from tears I give it to someone special....."
