it really depends how hard you are biting down, if it's hard enough that you're clamping off his blood supply, yes, u can cause damage to the internal tissue, by either destroying the cells that absorb the blood, or by overloading the rest of the tissue with too much blood, but if it's not that hard, then i wouldn't really worry about it
