Or is there still football on every fricken channel? :(

Well, I suppose this could be a "gloat when your team wins," or "bitch when they don't" thread.

At least then I'll know when it's over.

A man after my own heart.
Right now the stereo is blaring, the wife is reading, and I'm enjoying a quiet night as the VCR records the game so I can watch the commercials later on. (So I do things backwards, I fast forward through the game and watch the commercials. They're the best of the year don't you know?)

Looking forward to the Daytona 500.

My husband is fit to be tied that he has to work while the Daytona 500 is running.

LOL. I imagine I'll have the tv turned to it. I won't watch the whole thing, but I'll check periodically to see how Jr. and Michael are doing.

Mark Martin fan here... i used to run short track dirt and asphalt against him... one of the best and cleanest drivers around...

I'm sorry that Michael had to find a new team.... Jr got tired of being the second banana on his own team.... :D He'll never be his daddy.....

Which is why I still have a VCR.

I watched half an hour of it. I mean, hey. Billions of people are watching this. So there must be a reason, right?

Wrong.

It was a few seconds of actual sport of, well, some kind (men in padding making piles of men in padding) and then a minute or three of timeouts, measuring sticks, endeless reruns of the last five seconds, guys in seriously oversized headsets (For no other reason than that the sponsor Motorola's logo should be visible on them) looking grumpy and barking tactics, and then back to piling men again.

For five more seconds. What the fuck?

I remember an old chess game on my PC I had a few years ago. When I captured a piece, my piece would beat the crap of the captured piece. That was more entertaining and more frequent action than this.

What a god damn drag.

The Super Bowl is over.

Pittsburgh Steelers 21

Seattle Seahawks 10

The Stones put on a short, entertaining half-time show.

Liar, I know how you feel. I react the same way to watching guys in shorts running around and kicking a ball to one another.

Cat, the Bud ads were the best, especially the first one. Aleve had a fun ad with Leonard Nemoi (sp - Mr. Spock). And be sure to catch the ones by GoDaddy.com.

Was I the only one laughing at the Budweiser commercial that appeared to consist of me and my stablemates playing football and a shaved Evil Alpaca streaking us? ;)

Harumph! That was no alpaca and you know it!

*Grumble*

(But the commercial was funny.)

My humblest apologies. Of course it was not nearly as adorable and seductive.

Call it wishful thinking on my part. ;)

Nope.

Loved it. Although I've gotta admit I was thinking within the box and identified the "streaker" as a sheared lamb, not a shaved Evil Alpaca. But thanks to you, now it's all revealed, so to speak.

ps: Don't be modest EA.

Okay,
Just finished watching the commercials.
Yep Bud had the best ones. The football one was great and I also liked the Magical Fridge and the Roof repair ones. My wife fell in love with the colt pulling the wagon one though.

Go Daddy was good.
Ford was cute.
The long version of the Pizza hut one was great.

Not as many good ones as last year though. (I still laugh my ass off when I see the one for the convertible Chevy Pickup.)

But but but

I LOOOOOVE my Steelers :D
So do a lot of other folks, Lizzy. Great sports town, first-rate owners, fifth Super Bowl title, and they won it the hard way, beginning as a sixth seed and playing every game on the road. No, the game wasn't that "super." But IMHO, any fan of any sport can appreciate what the Steelers accomplished.
