Seeing how the original poster has done little to defend himself or make any sort of explaination we are only left to jump to said conclusions. Course why we want to jump to those conclusions is also a matter of debate. We simply feel like making a stab at what we feel to be an insulting remark.

Maybe he WAS just asking a simple question. However, when you consider that there are areas of Lit in which overweight people are scorned/attacked, it's no surprise that people went into "attack" mode in response to this guy's post. Maybe it wasn't the right thing to do, but I understand why people (myself included) did it.
He started the thread on 7-5. I'm willing to bet that he's been around since then. However, unless he comes back to defend himself, we'll never know for certain.
